Too Good to be true? Radeon 8500 Retail: $205

It is too good to be true, third party Radeon 8500 cards are clocked at 250/250.... same as ATi's OEM cards.

Yah but it says it comes with a DVI to D Sub. Do you know what that is? If that is DVI to vga it may be worth the extra money.

I'd think that DVI to D SUB would largely mitigate the advantage of DVI. I mean, the picture image strictly speaking is pure digital until it hits the analog port. Whether that port is on the card itself or a converter at the end of DVI still means loss of the perfect signal.

I mean to use this for a dual monitor configuration. Plus does the OEM from newegg come with 4 ns ram or 3.6? I think the ram will be the deciding factor.

If the Powermagic retails were out there when I bought I would gamble on it. I got a 8500OEM from newegg and it does have 3.6 chips BUT it will only get 267-270 without artifacts. Better deal than a retail for 175 (refurb) but I had a dvi to vga and let me tell you 2 monitors is more than twice as nice!

😉
