I've been using Firebird for a little over a year, 0.1 was my first download I think.
The straw that tipped the scale for me was the constant pop-up message that would say "Your settings may not allow this page to display properly". I had ActiveX turning off and everything else on medium settings, nothing to unrealistic. I was also tired of having to run Spybot or Ad-aware every week.
I think it all comes down to what tolerance level you have. I couldn't stand it anymore so I changed and I'm very happy that I did. In all honesty if a page can't be viewed in Firebird I don't bother with it. Firebird gives control back to the user. Ultimately that's the core reason for my change.
