I wouldn't wish cancer on my worst enemy. Hopefully with all the new research we can cure/prevent this disease some day.
Me either. I didn't care for him professionally, but he was still a human being with family and friends who loved him. Guys, show a little class and stow your partisan sniping for at least one thread.

I thought the reason he stepped down in the first place was so he could battle his cancer.

No, the reason he resigned as press secretary was so he could make even more money working for Rupert Murdock. A Hannity is a dime a dozen, Snow at least had some finesse that elevated him from the ordinary.

He battled Ulcerative colitis for 25 years that lead to his colon cancer. Had surgery in 2005 to remove his colon but had developed colon cancer by then. His mother dies at age 38 from colon cancer for also having UC.

I can relate to his story because I also had UC for many years until surgery in 2006 remove my colon. I am lucky though because I never developed cancer by the time I decided to have my colon removed.

I believe he waited to long to face the reality that his UC needed to be removed surgically. It's a very tough decision to make .. living with a " bag " the rest of your life when meds seem to be working. Not something I took lightly at all but the risks were to great not to go through with it. The thing is UC patients can have a J-pouch like I did and be bag free .. tough surgeries for sure but well worth the struggle.

Mr. Snow was an alum from my high school. From what I've heard he was pretty liberal when writing for the school paper but who wasn't in the late 60's / early 70's. We still have Carmen Electra however.

Hopefully he had access to the best available healthcare before he passed away, which is something he repeatedly tried to deny to everybody else during his career.

That didnt take long.

R.I.P. to Tony Snow...I feel for his family 🙁

is true enough though

Oh, well then in that case shit all over the thread thats for the mans death. Seems appropriate.

Yeah you'd defend anyone as long as they were dead, right? Why don't you express your sincere sadness at Stalin, Hitler and Mao's deaths as well.

Yeah because Tony Snow is the equivalent to Hitler....

Jesus Nick, do you have to call everybody into account if you don't like what they say about someone who passed? Just STFU and ignore it and these threads won't spiral out of control.

Of course his point was that the fact that someone's dead doesn't make them immune to criticism. Hasn't this already been beaten to death in that other thread? (Hint: the answer is yes)

Tony was a smart guy. I wish he had been a bit more honest, but he usually made a sincere attempt to engage people on the issues and I liked that.

You really are a baby.

Cut the shit, Snow was an asshole.

I'll give him a "RIP" and that's it.

Just remembering the accomplishments of this man. Some people would cheer this accomplishment. (Mostly those in this forum who don't think "everyone" should have HC) So R.I.P Tony, You'll be remembered for helping further the republican agenda, so will be great in the eyes of a few.

Didn't realize you knew him personally. Glad someone is here to shed perspective on the real Tony Snow. I suppose when you die no one will go around posting about how you were an asshole, probably because when you die, no one will know or care.

He was a good guy. Funny and willing to step back from his own beliefs to look at the big picture and mock it all. Anyone who saw him on talk shows could see that. I didn't know he was sick. Sorry to see him go. Pretty young for someone of his stature to pass.

ETA: The amount of grave dancing going on at DU (democratic underground) is extreme. Several of their forums are dominated by it right now. But I would expect the same thing on conservative forums if Ted Kennedy died, so... whatever.

Hehe, and I won't give a flying crap, either.

Snow was a master of disinformation, and I have zero respect for that kind of skill.

Anyway, I never wished death on him, and I even said "RIP". Don't get butt-hurt over it, "Death doesn't make you better".

Sad he died so young. May he RIP.

While I didn't agree with what he said or what he stood for, he came across as a decent sort of person.

Didn't he leave the job because the cancer came back?

Ooops... wrong thread....

lol @ the libs. "RIP asshole" haha...

I can't wait until the libs celebrate Fidel Castro's death because he brought free Universal Healthcare to his people.
