If you haven't seen Ong Bak or Tom Yum Goong (The Protector), do yourself a favor and change that so you can behold the insanity that is Tony Jaa.

For those familiar with him, here's a promo reel (not really a trailer, just some footage put together to sell the movie to international distributors) for Ong Bak 2. He supposedly spent several years developing a new martial arts technique that combined his usual Muay Thai with Kung Fu and others. Either way, he's once again beating the crap out of a whole lot of people.

This is also the first movie he's directed himself.

Do you know his story is that he watched american movies with cgi and special effects and stunt people to learn some stuff? He saw our movies with all that, and either didnt know about the special effects stuff or didnt have access to it so he does the same stuff, without props or special effects. Like jumping cars and climbing walls etc.

Tony Jaa kicks so much ass. :D Looks cool, can't wait to see it. I'm a fan of both Ong Bak and The Protector. :)

The movies aren't so much actual movies, but distributed displays of pure AWESOMENESS.
I guess the question needs to be asked... who would win in a fight? Chuck Norris, or Tony Jaa?

So is he going to start making more movies now? For being as good as he is 2 movies is just not enough.

the protector wasn't very good imo. the fight scenes were pretty boring and repetitive. Ong Bak was 100x better.

Did you watch the American version or the Thai? Because the American version was very heavily edited.

I watched the Thai version and it was a boring movie. The fight scenes were ok, but nowhere near as bad ass as Ong Bak. The sequel looks pretty good from this trailer.

You thought the fight up the spiral office building was boring? Or the fight against the bikers?

Fail.

I loved that part when he breaks everyone's bones/joints - pretty insane.

Tom Yum Goong was not as good as Ong Bak, even though both had pretty weak stories yet good action scenes. Ong Bak had some more humor which is always needed in movies like these. Movies like this can be boring when the writer/director takes everything too seriously.

yeah, it was pretty boring or maybe it just took too long. and then he had that one scene where he broke the arms and legs of like 100 guys. that scene was fucking retarded.
