That doesn't seem like a bad deal...

BTW - You're link to "***GET $10 FREE AT OVERSTOCK.COM! YES FREE!! NO CATCH!!*** " is over now... Overstock said ends "7/31" or do you know something different?

These ar great for the large % of users who do not (or will ever) need the throughput provided by 802.11g.

I think it'll come in handy for temporary access for when people bring me their PCs to "fix".

My bad. I need to change that. They are now giving a $10 credit if you use the "make it mine" feature at their auctions.

I did some checking...this is a good deal. cheapest I spotted on froogle was 24.99

I wonder how small these things are and what kind of power they have compared to wireless cards.

#1 It's D-Link
#2 It's 802.11 B

Either one of those alone would make this NOT a hot deal. But since it's both together, this is one of the worst deals ever...

I got in before OOS, can anyone elaborate on if these are usb 1.1 and would that limit the 11mbs 802.11b speed?

Nothing. Been using D-link for years and I'm amazed at how well things work for such low priced equipment.

Correct me if I'm wrong but:

USB1.1 TM*: 12Mbit
802.11B TM: 11Mbit

*TM=Theoretical Max

Yeah, especially considering you'll get nowhere near that with 802.11b, you're fine. You can easily download at 500kb via USB1.1

Shouldn't be an issue.

After going to compusa yesterday for the $9.99 motorola and coming back empty handed this would have made up for it. Too bad I didn't get home earlier tonight.
