Actually, the Galactica still has several new fighters as well. They retrofitted them with the electronics from the old fighters to solve this problem.

*spoilers*

They were retrofitted because Baltar knew from his Cylon on Caprica exactly how the Cylons were exploiting the computers. However, Pegasus did not have that advantage. When Admiral Cain was telling Adama how they survived, you could kind of tell that Adama was like... wtf?

More so, if you payed attention to the Pegasus's attack plan on the Cylon fleet with the mystery ship, they specifically try and exploit the "blind" spot. In Season 1, the Cylons specifically patrolled their blind spots. For the Pegasus, with supposedly such a high amount of combat hours, making that mistake this late in the game is highly questionable. It suggests the Cylons were letting them win some.

IMO, theres no doubt that something is funny with the Pegasus command structure. Like I said, the odds of her being Cylon is pretty high, especially since Sharon was specifically kept away from the Admiral and it would seem the Admiral has little to no interest in the interrogation process of either Cylon.

Kind of interesting eh?

Edit:

Unfortunately, I doubt this would get nominated for any non-technical Emmy just because it's a "genre" Sci-fi series that is not mainstream to the American public. The best way to support the show is to find someone with a Neilson Box and ask them to view it, but since theres only so many of those people around, buying the Boxed DVD sets is a good start ($40 for Season 1 + Mini-series).

Fvck me that was good. Probably the best single episode of any show I've ever watched.

yeah ... good point ... and the whole battlestar pegasus for that matter

according to the podcast (available on the battlestar website) there is a scene cut out which explains that the pegasus was in overhaul and had its network shut down. that combined with the blind jump got the pegasus out of harms way of the cylons initial attack.
