Oh, and of an interesting note, Tapping was only contracted for 14 episodes for S4. There's 20 episodes, she's been in the first 4, which means she'll be AWOL for the 6 of the remaining 16. The only question is how will they get rid of her for so long?

Decent writing, OK filler episode. Kaylee (Jewel Staite) is cute as ever.

With McKay and Sheppard doing most of the work at Atlantis they can just mention Carter giving the orders for some random missions without needing to show her on-screen.

It feels weird to watch these standalone episodes when such momentous events happened at the end of the last season. I guess this is Carter's feeling out period as a commander before the going gets rough.

Stargate SG-1 pretty much covered all the good ideas for standalone episodes. Traveling to another planet in the Pegasus galaxy is pretty much the same as in the Milky Way.
I think the only way for the show to survive is to turn it into a Replicator/Wraith arc type show with few standalones.
Although, quite frankly, I get the feeling that Sci-Fi would like the show to just go away.
btw what ever happened to the movies that SG-1 was going to make to tie up the Ori plot???

I really wish TPTB would stop killing off/getting rid of recurring characters and other cast members. A number of main cast members have already been given the boot, and with the death of the shrink it's yet another person that is gone and probably will be replaced. Consistent characters bring consistency to the series as a whole, this undermines that consistency. Besides, at this point I'm afraid they'll try to get rid of Zelenka.:Q

Now to get them to drop Carter and put Weir back.
Edit: And they haven't decided to renew Flash Gordon, which means they probably won't. This is good news![]()
