My only complaint was they are proceeding with the story way to fast it seems.

We already have seen a shot of the alien without the fake skin and the start of the resistance.

However no mouse eating yet so maybe next time. 😉

Good show. Only complain is the use of "reptile" features for the true physical appearance of the visitors. Can't they come up with a truly "alien" alien species?

I think they were constrained by the story. The reptiles need to be human shaped so they can appear like us.

However, I get your meaning. Most "aliens" on tv are humaniod and are almost never really truly "alien"

sure they can, but not on TV. it's far cheaper to put lizard suit on a human than using CGI or animatronics.
 
Totally missed the show by the time i saw the thread. Hopefully HULU will have it up tomorrow. Also, SyFy channel's been showing a marathon of the original series the last couple days...

What are the chances this show will survive? I'd hate to get into the show to have it canceled when things get interesting.
 
Pretty good. The story does seem to be unfolding too quickly. The FBI lady's partner is that one guy (William's buddy) from the movie A Knight's Tale and he also plays the pirate wannabe in Dodgeball.

The priest / pastor is was Tom Baldwin from The 4400.

I do like it and will be glued to my TV every Tuesday night. I must say the pacing seems way too fast. Admittedly the old series was too slow, but I wish they had kept some of the suspense a little bit while longer.
 
Wow. Just watched the first episode - that was unbelievably, almost comically, bad. Really. The story line is like a joke - reptile people taking over the earth? Seriously? Wow. And the characters were picked out of a book of clichés. Really, I cant get over how terribad this show was.
 
feels like 3 episodes packed into one - theyre only airing like 4 this year, so i guess theyre rushing it to attract ppl. bad move imo.

Yea, like it seems everybody else feels, it went WAY to fast. Went from here they are, nice to us, they might be evil, they are evil, they are reptiles, we must fight them, etc... in 1 hr.
 
Just watched it. I like it. Definitely going to keep watching it. I guess I'll watch the 80s series if this one gets cancelled.

Between V, Flash Forward, and Lost, ABC is showing a lot of sci-fi this year.
 
Pretty sure the FBI lady's partner is the mole and a reptilian. The leader of the resistance wondered how the reptilians found out about the secret meeting, well the partner knew since he accompanied the lady there. The Vs had tortured a member and ransacked his place without finding the info. However, the FBI lady got it by phoning his phone and checking the messages and the partner was there. Why was the sleeper cell warehouse evacuated beforehand? Because the partner knew they were going there. I'd have to rewatch the episode to see how he reacts to the fake ID too.

a lot of sci fi this year is a relative term. lost ends this season, so abc needs to find a replacement desperately. two new shows just before lost ends could be considered almost too late. Flashforward is getting mixed reviews and probably not huge ratings or they would be hyping new episodes more. V had a ton of production issues before it even aired(they are on their 3rd show runner now).

They burned thru 3 episodes of plot in last nights pilot. Too much happened, too many people were making big decisions with little setup to give weight to those choices, too many important secrets were revealed, and the biggest twists were shot right out at the end of the first hour.

Blame the network, as apparently they rushed production to get it out before american idol and the olympics start up.

The original series had the advantage of no one knowing what the visitors were actually up to from week to week, and no interwebz filled with spoilers. Discovering the V's were sinister, and then finding out they were reptiles took weeks in the original. Right now all the new team can do is go for style and try to have better acting than the original.

Did you watch the whole thing? The FBI partner thing was revealed.
