The last episode should have been Riker going on a Southbeach diet.

Truthfully though the ending was so bad, that now i support the cancellation of the show. The ending should have been in a war, where the enterprise is somewhat destroyed, and the crew escaping only to watch it exploded, and then we see the new enterprise being built, that would have been an awesome ending, maybe some GREAT SEXY LOOKING BORGS.

So true. They should have seen the writing on the wall, including the warnings they had previously received from management, and written a contingency finale.

I couldn't resist:

Riker's gut

Deanna's gut

They probably only had a couple weeks notice to lose weight, but still, an actor should be fit at all times, it's part of their job.

Here's an example of the rush of this finale: None of the writers even bothered to watch the actual TNG episode about the Pegasus. They could have at least given Deanna the same hair style she had in the Pegasus episode:

Deanna's hair in the Enterprise finale: link

Deanna's hair in the TNG Pegasus episode:link

edit: I also just realized her uniform color is different, blue as opposed to aquamarine.
FYI, B&B wrote it, so the flaws you point out are fairly standard.

They didn't even have the decency to show the signing of the charter or a speech by Archer!.
the series finale served as a subplot to an "above average" episode of TNG...
Last scene of a show's finale shouldn't have been a couple of TNG characters leaving an empty holodeck. So Riker had to look to the past to find backbone to do the right thing. bah

First they kill Trip's sister, then his clone, then his daughter, then finally Trip.

That's quite an insight, didn't notice the writers constantly picked on him.
Yeah, being the n-th person to say it, but it was ridiculous how they killed him off..

Well, at least he got himself some hot Vulcan tail..

Did anyone else notice Dawn Velazquez in the crew manifest for Pegasus when Riker was flipping through it?

I'm such a dork....

I didn't even really pay attention to it but had it on. What was the basic gist of the plot? How was Pegasus involved?

Riker uses the holodeck to push himself to do the "right thing" and thinks that Archer helping a friend when he should be setting off the history of the Federation by signing the first treaty of planets.

The right thing was telling Picard about what was happening with Pegasus and the cloaking. When he sees the Enterprise crew doing the morally right things, he somehow gets a backbone.

There's the one amusing thought: that Riker is so morally challenged he has to look to the Enterprise crew for guidance.:p

The ending was pretty lame.

What they need to do now is take the franchise away from berman & braga and give it to Manny Coto, who did a great job with the part of season 4 that he worked on. Give him a while to think about it, and give a new show that could be really good in 2007 or so.

I doubt it'll happen, but I think it could work.

the last show was terrible. it was the worst episode of enterprise in the entire run.

tripp being killed for no reason, nice.

all the actors seeming like they didnt care (jolene blaylock even said so in an interview more or less).

and not getting to even hear the speech.

and riker and troi being really fat. man that wa a painful painful show to watch.

i hope in 2 years when berman and braga or whatever, the producers get fired, they can releease a new startrek

Between TNG, DS9, and Voyager, that was the worst of all the series endings!

How did tng end again?

Q and three generations of NCC-1701-D coming together through that subspace anomoly where Picard is the only constant between the three.

that by the way was a great way to end a series. i watched it last week, on dvd rented from free hot deals blockbuster. much much better.

Are they bringing back TNG??
Why end the series like they did if not.

WTF

Too many good shows get canceled with no real end anyways.

Yeah, but he kinda looked like Commodus from gladiator... so the father killing, sister screwing, back stabbing prick probably deserved it.

Yes, the finale sucked. I thought they gave a little insight into the speech at the signing, though. My impression was that Sam's speech started with:

"Space, the final frontier. These are the voyagers....to boldly go where no man has gone before".

I dunno. Just the way it was edited made me think that that was how his speech opened. I could be wrong.

My wife and I thought it was great.
we're both TNG fans though and were happy that there WAS a Star Trek series... we didn't expect it to be TNG... we were just happy it was on.
