over Gordon Ramsay's New Potato crab salad. Simple and excellent recipe courtesy of Chef Ramsay. My wife doesn't like fishy Salmon taste but she loved this. I really liked the potato crab salad. The crab meat really added nice flavor to the potato. I could've eaten it as a meal by itself. I grilled some pork chops for my daughter as she's doesn't like salmon.

Mr. Ramsay showing how it's done.

Plus one for trying new things. Minus one for allowing your daughter to choose something else.

Any supermarket, really. It's canned. A recipe like that would be fine with backfin, no need to spend for lump.

I'm hoping the people here that respect my food knowledge don't kill me for this one, but a potato crab salad could actually be done very well with the imitation "krab" meat. It's just pollock or some other whitefish, brined in something to sweeten it a little, but it'd be good cut into cubes here. Seriously. I'm the last person you'd probably find saying that since I'm usually telling people to buy local shit caught that day, but it really would work here.

The only problem I have with "krab" is texture when it's heated. It's just better used in cold dishes.

Well cooked/prepared Salmon + pretty much anything that goes with Salmon = win in my book.

X2 The salmon does look good. I've never had much luck with fish. Maybe i'll try Gordon's suggestion and use some basil or rosemary

I sprinkled on some dried basil and rosemary. Didn't have any fresh kind. Last week I grilled salmon after marinating it soy sauce and brown sugar mixture. She loved that as well since it masked the strong salmon fish smell/taste.

You can find canned/container crab lump meat in pretty much any grocery store. It's usually about $16-$20 a pound. I used crab claw meat from Trader Joe's. It's $9 for one pound of crab claw meat. TJ's also has lump crab meat for $9 for 1/2 pound. I bought the claw since I rather have twice the crab meat for the price.

Back to your quarter pounder philistine!

OP. my youngest hated salmon until I smoked some for her. Now, she can't get enough.

I think salmon is an acquired taste. It has such strong flavor. I didn't really like salmon at first either til I ate it regularly. Now I love it.

My daughter doesn't like certain seafood. She doesn't really like crab. She doesn't like most fish. or mussels. But she likes shrimp, squid, conch, and scallops. I smoked some salmon for her before. She doesn't care for it. But her taste buds are constantly changing. She used to love crab, lobster, and various fish. I'm sure she'll like it again.

I just noticed something.

Gordon Ramsay speaks with the same cadence as William Shatner. It's like he's a British version of him.

I'll never be able to listen to him the same way again o_O
