Cut up some non-green peppers
oil lightly
broil until soft
stuff into leftover jar with some garlic and basil or dill or parsley while still hot.
add a bit of oil and/or vinegar.
tighten lid. the jar will seal itself.
Enjoy in salads, as a side (with cheese) or in cooked meals for weeks on end.

Simple yeah, but that's not the right way to do it.
Put red bell peppers over an open flame. Burn the skin until black but not white. Keep turning until most of the skin has been charred. Put it in a bag until it cools enough to handle it. Peel the skin off (it should come off easily). Now its ready for the jar or to eat.

She probably lived to an old age too. Old people put butter on everything. My grandpa ate lard sandwiches (spread leftover bacon/sausage fat on bread like peanut butter) and died at age 80 of non-cardiovascular problems.
