very good show. loved the scene with Adama marching down the corridors with the ship behind him. i wished he just walked onto the bridge and put a bullet in the head of both of them.

I am somewhat surprised that he would have executed them so quickly. I would have thought Adama would provide an actual fair trial which would exemplify him keeping with the rule of law as opposed to the mockery that the coup had.

That being said we were not given a clear time-frame from when Adama took control of the ship to when the execution happened so for all we know maybe there was a fair trial.

Bah, they were mutineers. In the military, that is cause for death. Plus, Zarick killed (or had killed) all of the reps. They deserved it.

10/10

I was expecting a trial as well. It kind of seems out of character a bit that they didn't, but by the same token it seems in character as well.

For the show I'm glad they didn't, because we don't need a 3 episode trial again (which was good for a law show, but boring for a sci-fi space show IMO).

Last weeks was better IMO, but solid episode none the less. 9/10

As for what Tyrol saw, it was either a crack or some something that means they are linked to the cylons somehow.

My first thought on the torn up walls was that some one (cylons?) had sabotaged the FTL engine room to blow galactica when they jumped. With the only other military vessel destroyed the Cylons wouldn't really have any threat within the fleet that could stand up to them. Whether they would use that to force integration or something else at this point I don't know. It would make sense given that the Cylons have been in the FTL room presumably for the upgrades.

However, that looks like fatigue damage, battle damage, some sort of regular failure more then deliberate sabotage honestly. Either way I bet next episode will reveal Galactica would have been destroyed if it had jumped.

All of this just my opinion.

During the time on New Caprica, Gaeta provided lists of resistance people to Sharon or whatever version of Eight that was and Sharon promised to free those resistance people. However, they're Cylons and they didn't really free those lists of people so much as go kill/jail them. They did free a couple of them to try and convince Gaeta that he was doing the right thing so Gaeta would keep on providing the lists.

I think Gaeta eventually found out what was happening at some point in time and a lot of the guilt he feels is over the deaths he indirectly ordered through his lists. The guilt is manifested through the itching on his stump. He is portrayed as that he really does want to help the humans but he keeps on screwing it up. The little heart to heart with Gaius at the end sort of absolves him of his guilt so that's why his stump stops itching at the end. I have no idea which work of literature this is a reference to.

I'll agree with PingSpike and others in that I think the cracks on the wall that the Chief found look like battle/fatigue damage and the next episode will reveal that the Galactica would have been destroyed if they had jumped, which will segue into the inevitable conflict where they will have to install the Cylon FTL drive into the Galactica since the Chief killed their old FTL.

Also there is no timestamp for the execution so we don't really know if they had a trial or not. Really they only need a "real trial" for Zarek since Gaeta can be court-martialed, which might go faster than a real trial?

ok, so it looks for sure that helen is the final one, so WTF is the story behind starbuck.

and I'd like to see a death toll for the rebellion time, it's got to be brutal.

just watched it now off DVR. great episode!

yeah the crack definitely looks like wear & tear - not sabotage.

maybe it will lead to them being stranded and then suddenly the hostile cylons jump in leading to a disastrous situation

We and the writers are still trying to figure that out! 🙁

This show just makes me want to jump out of my chair every time I see one of these last episodes.. Its so amazingly sad to see this go... nothing is 'smart' anymore, its a dieing breed.

I'm glad it's ending. it's far better than milking it for every last penny and having it turn into utter crap later =(

No, the dirt Baltar has on Gaeta is that the two of them were the reason a massacre of the Saggitarons occurred on New Caprica before the Cylons arrived. Baltar was the president who let it occur and Gaeta was his chief of staff. Gaeta was, in fact, a loyal fighter for the resistance.

Baltar and Gaeta are the most similar of any two people on the ship - both the go-to experts in technology/science in the fleet, and they worked together often. There's some mutual respect there.

"It stopped" refers to his leg finally stopping itching, which is supposed to be the height of irony - that's what was driving him to such heights of bitterness since its removal. Just as he's about to be executed as a traitor, it stops itching. A little too ironic, yes I really do think.

I'm not sure what the damage in the FTL area was about, but I think it's along the lines of what everyone else is thinking - the Galactica has only a few jumps left in the tank, if it's got any at all. It's probably 40-50 years older than any other ship in the fleet.

I don't think they have a solid ending planned, but I'm watching with bated breath to the end.

That was the original intent for the secret, but that storyline was dropped. a123456 is correct in that the new plot they came up with for the webisodes is that Gaeta was providing lists of prisoners to an 8, who claimed to be getting those people released. Instead, they were actually being executed. They even go so far as to dub in what Baltar whispered to Gaeta back when he stabbed Baltar in the neck (The secret sealed with a very special pen), so that he said "I know what your Eight did."
