Tonight's Battlestar Galactica Episode [01-23-2009]...

Interested to see how the series plays out now that they finished the whole "let's find earth and recorver civilization" storyline after about half an episode.

And the whole pesky "whose the final Cylon?" business

All I know is that they've got a lot to wrap up in the final 8 episodes (the final episode is rumored to be 2 hours +). The last episode created more questions than answers.

Do you guys think there will be any more scenes where we see Adama go into a drunken rage where he smashes things or fights somebody and then at the end laughs it off as all the tension has been release?

I am excited to see how it all plays out. I have been watching this show for too long, I hope it doesn't disappoint.

only 8 more episodes!!?!?! i thought it was going to be at least 12

The second half of the season is episodes 13 to 22. We just had one, so that leaves 9 episodes. The last episode may end up being as long as three hours which would essentially make it two or three episodes.

Remember a couple of the seasons episodes (at least in an accounting/budget sense) were used to make that pegasus episode.

4/10

with so few episodes left, this felt like kind of a waste.

I think it's reached a point where I only really care about the cylons anymore.

W/ R. Moore's interview posted in last weeks thread, I'm actually hoping that he never writes for SciFi again! :|

Actually some questions were answered.

First, they have apparently left Earth, as evidenced by the Galacticas engines in full burn. I guess they want to get as far away from the planet in case the Cavils show up.

Second, D'anna apparently stayed on Earth, as she said she would. Wonder if that's the last we'll see of her?

Third, Starbucks knowledge of finding her Viper and her body on Earth indicates some other force is still unknown, and will apparently be one of the most important unknowns.

Fourth, Hera IS the only human-cylon child ever born.

Fifth, Adama is sick which leaves open the question as to whether he is the "dying leader" who will lead the people to "salvation"(iirc they never said lead the people to earth)

Sixth, Tigh apparently told someone that Ellen was the Fifth, since Lee mentioned "her" being dead.

Seventh, there are apparently multiple copies of the Cylons still remaining on their base ship.

How can anybody call this filler? It didn't answer questions, but it introduced a lot of plot lines. Damn, the next couple of months are going to be awesome.

I love just how... low... the series has gotten. Watching it is genuinely difficult. The fleet has arrived at the promised land, and has lost everything they thought might be worthwhile. Now their leaders are thoroughly defeated and there's a massive coup. It's almost as nerve-wrackingly depressing as Frodo and Samwise scurrying through the ash wastes of Mordor - the crew of the Galactica is so crestfallen that they've started tossing trash in the hallways... yikes.

Great episode, imo! 😛

yup, all vestiges of civilization are being removed. I suspect only a handful will survive.
