Ton

im actually going to a *real* hip-hop show this week. the roots on friday night and talib kweli and mos def on saturday night.

Tony Yayo is the least talented member of G-Unit. Lloyd Banks is solid, but nothing spectacular.

I would've come out to see Mobb Deep do Quiet Storm; that's one of my favorite hits of all time.

anxi80, is that show in the DC-Met by any chance? That sounds ilke something I would really like to see.

Yayo then turns to the crowd "You know I never come to CT without my Nig**z!" The DJ drops the "Quiet Storm" beat and Mobb Deep Havoc + Prodigy run onto stage and start going into there "its the real sh1t, sh!t to make you feel sh!t" and the crowd erupts once again.

damn, that's a hella good beat... I can literally feel it

Over all it was a really good show and I felt I got my 30 bucks worth.
that's it? pretty good. I was traveling and drove pass Omaha last year; Lloyd Banks and Young Buck was performing a show there but I chickened out cuz the venue look "ghetto as ****"

where?
san diego. 🙂

edit: more specifically, both shows at the house of blues.

I havent been to Toads in a long time. I think the last time I went was to see The Anniversary with Dashboard Confessional opening. That's probably going to sound strange to you now that I'm about to talk about rap.

Sounds like you had a good time though, I've never heard Yayo at all though unless he was on some of 50's tracks other than 50 saying "Free Yayo" What was he in for anyway?

I typically listen to old school Wu tang, Eminem, 50, and recently got into Atmosphere. Should I bother with Tony?

what r u basing this on?
I'm basing it on my opinion. I look at their lyrics, I look at the songs that get heavy radio play, I listen to the album if it's available and I want to, and make a decision for myself.

It's very difficult to speak quantitatively about something as subjective as music, so I thought it was fairly obvious that I was just stating my personal opinion.

I remember one of those little guys from mobb deep getting robbed of all the heavyweight gold & jewelry around my old neighborhood. Coincidently, right near their old neighborhood. I think I was into rap back then, but even the tiny 100lb chinese guy who use to hop around from first to last period quoting them, started to move on.

Ok I would agree with you then. His latest release is very sub par. Check him out on the older mixtapes. His bars were FIREEEEEEEEE
