Tomshardware has officially jumped the shark.

Have you guys seen our ads? Have you clicked on our banners? Have you been annoyed yet? Is it annoying yet?

To be fair... They are reviewing the car's technology features.

Table of contents:
1. Meet Toyota's 2012 Camry Hybrid XLE
2. A Fairly Generic Infotainment System
3. Internet Connectivity And Apps
4. Navigation And Voice Recognition
5. Music Features
6. Phone Connectivity
7. Blind Spot Monitoring, Safety Connect, And The Backup Camera
8. Hybrid Synergy Drive
9. Benchmark Results

Tom's Hardware went downhill when they were outed for taking money for favorable reviews some dozen years ago.

"The site is temporarily unavailable.
Please come back soon. "

lol, went downhill big time.*

*It's a joke. I know it's temporary and it happens to all sites once in a while. It just struck me funny when I went to Tom's after reading this thread.

I don't believe bias because it is so easy for any fanboy to say someone is pro AMD or pro intel. Although i don't think anyone is pro AMD at this point.

best computer hardware site & forum are hardocp and overclock.net

tomshardware has been bad for the last 10 years

BAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAH

You're joking, right? Right? Please tell me you're joking, cause that's the god damn funniest thing I've heard all fucking week!

The ONLY thing good about HardOCP is their FS/FT forum (it's the only decently active, well moderated one left these days) and the ONLY thing good about overclock.net is... well... not a god damn thing (especially after the new layout, but even before the new layout overclock.net was just a shithole full of asshats).

well what do you think is the best? those 2 sites are the most active and have a lot of good content.

[H] still does top notch PSU and GPU reviews. Frankly, I prefer their GPU reviews to AT's and any other tech website minus perhaps techreport. Far more in-depth with respect to FPS graphs, doing an FPS graph along with a timetable to show the consistency and response times of the GPUs and not just min/max + average FPS. They also consider patches for games as well and not just the out-of-the-box versions.

"jumped the shark" is one of the most retarded phrases ever spoken by man.

Last few reviews I bothered to read from H seemed pretty lazily done. They didn't bother testing multiple resolutions, used non-typical cards (the first GTX660Ti review they did for example was a 3GB card, not a more typical 2GB card), and usually only test maybe one or two titles at best before giving their "stamp of approval" on something.

That said, out of all of the other sites, H can be a pretty amusing place at times. Steve does post some fairly amusing things at times.

OCN on the other hand is just a shithole, period. There's absolutely no useful content there other than epeen stroking kiddies and people trying to hawk their old and/or broken shit for more than retail on their FS forum.

minimum/maximum + average frame rates don't tell you what you need to know about a GPU's performance. They'll give you the jist of it, but there's also other factors to consider, like how often it spends at either end and how smooth the frames are spit out.

AT really needs to start doing that ^^

As well as going into more depth regarding the game settings.

Techreport does the same, along with adding a response time to this as well. So while AT's review of Trinity that Jarred did showed the HD4000 being pretty close to Trinity, TechReport showed that Trinity was still way ahead as far as image quality went, both in and outside of games, along with much smooth frames and ahead in the games as well. Jarred used an outdated Skyrim patch while TR was smart and bothered to download the newest patch.

It's the little things that count in GPU reviews that both of those sites do that AT still hasn't caught up to. That's surprising, imo, given the highly technical nature of this site and its users. All of the other reviews are top notch, but they really need to wise up and get with the times with respect to GPUs and PSUs both.

If minimum frames > 40fps, that's all I need to know, since you won't see a difference with anything faster. And before you try to refute it: Bullshit.

If maximum frames >60fps, then who cares.

Graphs like that are useless unless that yellow line is crossed more often than not.

And more importantly, REAL WORLD RESOLUTIONS PEOPLE. The majority of people play on 1080p, not 1600p. I want to see real world benchmarks on real world machines with typical components, not top end overclocked crap that pretty much nobody outside of the reviewers have.

 😀

All of the major tech sites have their uses. But some are much more useful than others. 😛
