Not sure I agree with the author saying that VR is "About to explode". It really reminds me of the 3D push, which went basically nowhere. Even if I could use a VR headset, I really do not think I ever would. It is more immersive for sure, but I typically game while snacking or drinking something at the same time. And a headset that blinds you to your surroundings would prevent that.

VR only works good with constant high framerate.

VR headsets all use strobing, so variable refresh isn't compatible.
