whats the second port on there, comm? all my comm ports are male on the motherboard/female on cable. that actually looks like a vga connection just becuase its female on the card-all my graphics cards have female connectors.
i think they just might be right. or am i wrong?

Looks like a video connector for a monochrome monitor. The name of the picture is monochrome as well. And they do talk about the history of graphics controllers...so whose the idiot now?:D

they still make mistakes

<< The status LEDs on the top right-hand side on the front of the card are more of a gag than a useful feature. These three LEDs inform you whether the card is powered, if there is an error, and if the card is running in AGP 4x mode. While, in theory, the idea is quite sound, the execution doesn't seem to have been thought through completely. Since the card is installed into the computer upside-down, you'd need a mirror to check the LEDs. Gainward should consider placing them on the back of the card instead of the front. >>

They were talking about the leadtek board :)

That card there on Tom's is a Hercules Monochrome card. Most of them also had a printer port on them. I ought to know. I still have mine that came with my first 286.

Since the article is about the history of the Video Card showing that card is totally correct as it's one of the early video cards.

I noticed that too. BUT, we all know what they are talking about, so it's not a big deal. They are NOT incompetent, it's just that they make innocent mistakes. But don't we all?

NFS4 you have away to make thing seem what they are not.If a duck is a duck call it a duck not a goose.Alot of diff,s their bud.Looks like they reached in the bin and pulled out the wrong card, and the guy taken the picture only knows monachome LOL.Maken that kind of mistake with the video cards we have today the person writting the report would have had to be out of the tech circle alone time.Proof read if this is the type of work you depend on for a living.I,m glad I do windows.:)

Guys, i think it's the AT people who are idiots.

If you actually read the article, they are talking about the history of the video card, hence the use of the old monocrome vga card?? But on the next two pages they show the appropriate cards for the Gainward & Leadtek.

The article is only talking about two cards in question = Gainward & Leadtek. The FIRST (Addtional) card they show on the very front is obviously in reference to the above text which is talking about the history of video cards and how far they've come. Then it builds up to the point where it shows the new cards (with the correct pictures).

As for the spelling and the wrong Hardware specifications...their idiots :)
