Tom has always upset fanboys of particular brands but the reality is that the guy is pretty good at comparing hardware(unless your favorite brand isn't #1 according to his latest test).

He is opinionated but usually for good reasons.

I think everyone knows that AMD's latest offerings are better than Intels but give it a few months and this can turn back the other way. I can't afford a new dual-core AMD or Intel system at this point in time so it's all just entertainment for me. :beer:

Back in the day, fresh off successes with the Northwood cores... Prescott came out and though temps were high, people were hitting clock speeds with good cooling. I went through a Thermalright XP-120 and about five Prescott CPUs. Going to a socket 754 A64 2800+ @2.4GHz was a most satisfying experience. Two days ago, made the move to x2 3800+ @2.5GHz. I think I'm set for a year or two.

A fair point...but the times are changing (rapidly). Remember that Intel is pulling way back on the value chipsets, leaving the way clear for ATI and Nvidia. This is a good portion of the mobile chipset market due to onboard graphics...
Let's wait and see what happens next year. It could be another banner year for Intel laptops, or AMD might just pull another rabbit out of the hat! It should be fun to watch though...

Every hw review site is biased if it doesn't back up your point of view. I remember the [ H ] reviewer (always seen as having an amd bias by intel fanboys) getting a roasting by amd fan boys because he got rid of his A64 and bought a HT P4 because it was more responsive for the work he did. While I am not particularly impressed by toms and the conclusions they comes too some times I don't see them having any particular bias.

The main reason I would check out tom's is their LCD reviews which are the best I've seen.

Thats your first big false assumption right there. Its not just "Tom" anymore. And hasnt been for years. THG got a truckload of people spilling their opinions over reviews instead of just letting facts do the talking.
