Curious whether this will affect other Sandforce 3 drives, like the Vertex 3.

It apparently affects ALL SSDs that use that particular Sandforce controller.

they handled it the best way they could, short of not making the defect in the first place.

apparently no one reads much before formulating opinions around this joint.

NOTE: CSSD-F60GB3-BK, CSSD-F240GB3-BK, and Force GT are NOT affected by this issue

and you can add the Vertex drives to that list as the issues are completely different.

If it were purely firmware related then Sandforce would be able to replicate the issue and just put out a quick fix for all mfgrs to use. Obviously not nearly that simple or they wouldn't be pulling drives back in for a simple firmware fix. Nor would the other similar models be left in the market as they all surely run the same firmware.

agreed, glad I stuck with Intel on this. Also the stupid Duraclass limiting writes after awhile is a joke.
