1) He was in a crappy 80's hair band
2) He married a sack of silicone called Spam Anderson and they made a pr0n video and he is packing one of those deformed products of Austin Powers Swedish enlarger
3) He was in some stupid wanna-be rap group with Fred Durst and Lil Kim (or one of those horney rap bitches)

Motley Crue was crappy.

They first got big when I was in 7th-8th grade (the dawn of the hair band phenomenon) and while they were certainly gimmicky with the whole "look" at first, they actually did write a few good tunes later on in their career. Nothing deserving of a grammy or anything, but nice solid rock/metal stuff. I'll admit it's partially a nostalgia thing.....I guess you had to be around when all the hair bands were coming out of the woodwork.

Never really liked Crue. I was more into Iron Maiden, Ozzy, and GNR.

Still, they put out better music than 90 percent of today's bands.

I'd much rather listen to Shout at the Devil or Smokin in the Boys Room than anything by Staind or Linkin Park.

I was around, hanging out at the Whiskey and the Troubador. I was in my mid-twenties. I don't know if you remember a band called Ratt, they were Motley Crue wannabees that almost made it, did make it partially. I hung with those guys during that time, before they released Out of the Cellar, and knew the guys from Motley Crue, Whitesnake, Quiet Riot, etc. on a knodding basis. Motley Crue was mediocre but so were all the hair bands IMO. They all had a couple of good tunes but nothing sustainable. The only real successful band from that time of the LA scene was Van Halen, who got hot just before all these guys hit the scene.
