"I suppose I'm deranged, but..."

After seeing it for the 137th time last night, I have come to the conclusion that Tombstone is one of the greatest films of all time with a special emphasis on Val Kilmer's quality performance.

"Hell's coming with me"

The guy who played Resse in terminator and hicks in Aliens played an awesome Johneey Ringo. In fact i would have given an oscer to everyone in that movie. Every performance was amazing right down to Jason presley and Billy Bob. Im amazed how many quality actors were in that flick. I mean Billy Zane, Billy Bob,Jason Presly, Sam Elliot, Bil Paxton, etc. The list goes on and on

Great movie, but don't fool yourself into thinking that it's even remotely true to the actual historical facts. Really good movie though. Russel and Kilmer did the best Earp and Holliday performances ever IMO.

I wouldn't say it's quite the 2nd best western of all time, but as long as you're ranking it after "Unforgiven" I hope...

I do not have any such illusion. I just think the movie is a hell of a lot of fun.

Several westerns rank ahead in my book: The Wild Bunch, Unforgiven, and a couple more.

One of my very favorite movies!

Oh, Johnny, I apologize, I forgot you were there. You may go.

Doc Holliday was such a pimp.

generally, i hate westerns.... Unforgiven is a great film, period. but because i don't really care for westerns Tombstone is my clear choice for # 2. why? Kilmer's best work, the movie didn't take itself too seriously (ala Kevin Costner's "Wyatt Earp") and the supporting cast was perfect.
