Tomb Raider: Read this review and avoid like the PLAGUE!

What?! A summer big budget movie based on a video game, and starring the acting talent of Angelina Jolie, might possibly suck?

Hey hey come on now...Jolie is a good actor. I don't find her blindingly hot (I think it's a closet thing for tech geeks since she was in Hackers ). I certainly wouldn't see Tomb Raider based on her physical presence, but she is a pretty good Actress.

Anyway, the tomb Raider games were so think with original, stimulating, and intelligent plot that I don't see how they could fudge up the movie!

Harry Knowles is a pompous idiot who thinks that just because he has a website that his opinion matters more than somone elses, and he wouldnt know a good movie if it climbed up his rear end, and started to devour his brain from the inside. Hes nothing more than a movie geek who thinks because he has a bunch of people read his site, that he is now a Movie God. Imagine the Comic Store Owner from the Simpsons, multiply by 100, and you have Harry Knowles.

Anyway, I still think that Tomb Raider will be below my expectations of it, but I will see it, and I am now determined to love it more than any other movie in existance for the simple fact that Harry Knowles hates it.

Tomb Raider looks like it'll have some good action sequences. But i never really liked tomb raider anyway.. that third person view is really annoying to me. Plus, i don't think jolie looks all that

I fargin hated the damn movie. Went to see it opening day. 15 mins into it I was ready to leave. I got bored of the special effects half way through and was nearly asleep by the end. I even tried to give it a second chance on HBO and it STILL sucked.

OT: Harry Knowles didn't seem pompous on the Ben Stein show (dam that Ben Stein is a pain in the arse), but jeez that guy is fat. That guy really needs to lose some weight or he's going to kick over any day. It sounded like it took all his effort just to speak. I feel sorry for guys that are that fat I can't imagine having to carry that much around everywhere.

That is one good movie
FX is onething, but the story line is great, Its like the good old Terminator set-up, but more creative story line. I like that in a movie. I respect the writer.

It makes me wonder what you fevorite movie is? Probably ALF, no effects there for you to dislike.

There is NO film without effects even the classics

I think Skoorb summed it up best.

I always wait until actual &quot;people&quot; start to post their reviews before I see a movie, but as far as TR goes it does look really bad. Darkhorizons had some reviews from real people and they said it was horrible...it doesn't look good to me so I probably won't throw down my US$10 &quot;just to see if the critics were wrong.&quot;

I am saving one my rare visits to the theatre for JPIII!
