NVIDIA has worked closely with EIDOS and Crystal Dynamics on an improved demo for Tomb Raider: Legend that now has the same stunning graphics features that can be seen in the final version of the game.

NOTE:For the best visual experience, NVIDIA recommends an NVIDIA GeForce 7800 or better graphics card. Please note that users must have 84.43 or newer drivers, which they can get from nzone.com.
 
Tomb raider series always runs crap on pc.. its always developed for PS2 1st and then everything eles. I finished the game on xbox 360 and it was pretty good.

I like how nvidia names the 84.43 drivers (my preferred set) instead of their 91 series rubbish. Coincidently, 84.43 was the set I ran the original tomb raider demo under, not 84.21 (which bfg10k seems to think I must have used in the other thread -- some of us don't have an irrational fear of beta/leaked/oem drivers).
 
I ran Tomb Raider Legend on my current rig except that I had the 6600GT,1gb ram, not as good psu and mouse then, and it ran very well at 10X7 MAX next gen off, no aa, no af

even 12X7 was ok, but not great

As for 84.43, that's the emergency driver for Tomb Raider which is why it's a minimum requirement.

So if a game comes out saying on the back that it requires a 3.0GHz Processor or higher, i suppose by your supposition that it can only run with a 3.0Ghz processor and nothing more.

Or another example of your intelligence, how about if the requirements state you need at least a card which can do SM2 or higher i suppose by your great understanding of the english language that you can only run the game with SM2 cards. Because if you have SM3 on it, it wont work.

It NAMES the 84.43 because thats the base line driver that will work with this game well. And anything ABOVE that, be it 84.4000000 it will work.

See how you said NEWER... Why not re read the orginal post. as i would suggest you do because it might in fact have the same word. Because it does talk about eh 91.XX because, well, its NEWER!

Also i would suppose that since they said the name 7800 that you could only use that graphics card too, wouldnt it.

This is beyond comical now. Tell me Gstanfor, what version of the English language defines "or newer" as a synonym for "instead of"?

84.43 is listed because it's the emergency beta driver where nVidia first included the fix for Tomb Raider, but because the fix is included in future drivers that's why it says or newer.

Really it's an extremely simple concept to understand because it's basic English.

To the OP, he states us to tell us that the game is really tough on the sysetm, however with next gen content off, I feel otherwise.

BFG10K, don't bother trying to argue with Gstandfor, he's worse than beggerking since his fuse is shorter than akshayt's knowledge in installing new video cards.

The announcement was made WELL AFTER 91.31 was released. If the 91.31 drivers were all that and a bag of chips to boot, nvidia would have wrote 91.31 and not 84.43.

The simple fact is the 84.43 drivers work better than any 91.xx driver, anyone who has ever used both knows it and nvidia themselves know it.

The 93.31's are SLI pushing, rubbish drivers. End of story.

Perhaps you need to reshearch the meaning of the word "or" my alcohol addled friend...

Oh, and by the way, since you are so facinated by grammitcal and syntactical correctness - it is accepted and long established practice to place the more favorable term in an or statement to the left and the less favorable to the right. I submit that this is precisely what occured in nvidia's statement.
 
The screen shots don't look next gen to me. I'll have to check it out myself when I play it.
