Tomb Raider for $5

Yes, but the new Tomb Raider is far better than all those other games combined.

It's $5 for the new Tomb Raider or $14 for the entire series INCLUDING the new Tomb Raider. It's not a question of whether the newest TR is better, it's a question of value and the Steam package for $14 is clearly the better deal with 9 more TR games.

Already got it on one of my vidcard purchase but couldn't pass it up as a gift purchase.

I dont know about this. As an Uncharted clone it was OK, but as an actual Tomb Raider game isnt wasnt that good. Not enough puzzles. Its a good game, just depends on what you are looking for in your Tomb Raider games. Using the bow was pretty satisfying. That feature by itself was probably worth $5.

Ok, you're right. It's actually better than Uncharted in my opinion, and I really liked the Uncharted series. It depends what you're looking for. I guess I just wouldn't pay $9 extra for all the older games. Maybe I'd get one or two - I paid $2.50 for Tomb Raider Legend last year and played for about an hour. It's pretty hard to go back to clunky controls and graphics after playing the new one. But yes, it's more action-oriented, in part because it could be due to better controls.

I can't believe you called it an Uncharted clone, how backwards is that!?!? Less puzzles to solve because it's how it all began, how she became the Croft we know in the later games. Makes no sense to throw in all the TR puzzles we are used to.

I bought the previous two or three Tomb Raider games to replay them, but it is hard going back to the old graphics. I really like the puzzles and exploration though, but then you get attacked by a spider or something and its WTF is this bleep.

The last Tomb Raider game took so damn long to get going I almost stopped playing it. Cutscene after quick time event after scripted event then another cutscene, then repeat. It picked up after the first 60-90 minutes, but that was fairly annoying.

Yet she is a killing machine fairly quickly. It would have made more sense for her to start out figuring out puzzles and gradually becoming a stone cold killer, but whatever. Ideally, they should have fleshed out the stealth gameplay more so you can avoid it, but they had to have their scripted sequences. Also wasnt a fan of the Hostel style torture porn. 50% of Lara's dialog was probably her screaming in pain. Dont get me wrong, its a good game, but Uncharted does this kind of game better. The only thing I think TR does better is it has a PC version. But to each his own. I paid like $20 for a code and got my money's worth. Someone paying retail probably would feel the same, so $5 is a steal.

I loved the new Tomb Raider. It's definitely more than worth $5. I just appreciated the extra value in the full bundle because I can go play some of the TR games I missed.

I've never played Uncharted, because I don't have a PS3, so I can't really comment on that.

LOL, Childs, I'm just now getting into all the torture stuff, and it is pretty strange. I try to ignore it, but it's bordering on gore.

Still, an epic game, gorgeous graphics, and a superb deal at $5.

Yeah, it probably reads like I am crapping on it, but its a good game.

The entire TR series, including 2013, is on Steam for $13 right now. I bit on that.

Where? Shows $34 for me.

I already got Tomb Raider the other day for $7 with $5 Amazon promo credit.

$5 is sweet.

Also Tomb Raider: Anniversary is really good too. Along with Legend and Underworld.

There is also a Mulitplayer / co-op(I think) mod for the classic ones. It's called OpenRaider I believe?

It's the Steam sale, so it'll go off and on. Just check it once a day if you want the whole pack. It will (most likely) get back to that price by the end of the sale.
