Tomb Raider 1, available?

My CD is lost. I bought this game and have moved a couple times since.

I wanted to check it out again.

Is this freeware or is it bundled in a newer version of the game?

I already have the XP patch.

goozex.com has a bunch of used Tomb Raider games (including TR gold) available for 100 points which equals $5. To perform a trade as the buyer there is a $1 transaction fee. So if you have nothing to trade, you pay $6 shipped.

Oh, if you are a new member, you get your first 100 point game free.

Checked out goozex.com and it's being mailed as I type this...for free.

How does gametap really work though...do the games die when your account dies?

I still think Tomb Raider 1 was the best in the entire series. Despite the pixellated graphics, it holds up well. Awesome level design...perfect ambient music..challenging puzzles...kickass.

You'll appreciate Tomb Raider Anniversary much more if you play through the original first.

You own it, you can legally obtain it through the usual "pirate" means.

True, but I'd have to look that route if I couldn't find it for free. I signed up for the gooex site and it's already coming as my free first game.

I ordered the Tomb Raider Gold version which also included 4 additional levels.

FYI Tomb Raider Anniversary was supposed to be a remake of 1.

I saw that one...it's not an exact copy and I would have had to pay extra for that one. It's nice it's designed to run outside of DOS though.

Some of the changes seem neat, but then they took away some of the original stuff too.

we do have big lots around here...which version are you seeing? If the anniversary one, I may go try to snag that too.

Anyone know how gametap works? Do you have to play online/are the games time limited/etc?

I've paid for gametap before and while there is no time limit when you have the gold account, it seems, at least to my imagination that there are sound/music files and other stuff missing. Makes some games feel neutered and not as fun to play.

If you already bought it once you can just download it. You own a licence.

I don't even have the box. Probably an ex took it. Still it was simple to just sign up for that goozex thing and get it for free with box/manual/cd.
