Tom Clancys Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield = $8.99

It's not very good, but it's something different that the normal FPS, kinda fun once you know what you're doing. Probably an 8 out of 10 game. Good buy if you wanna try something new.

Are you serious? Did you play the old Rainbow Six games? This is by far a great game at a great price. The game is very detailed and realistic. Just curious, what don't you like about this game?

The older rainbow games (Rogue Spear) were made by Red Storm - they gave the game a typical feel (faster and more accurate). I prefer the older games than this new one.

The new one is made by Ubi Soft , many Die hard RS fans believe that they killed the series with this game. As it is "slow" and stop and shoot type of game. Campers will like it though.

LOL... probably.. but I would think all the rainbow series are classified under slow paced FPS category -regardless made by red storm or Ubisoft. The real fast paced FPS game should be CS, UT or Quake.

I am a big CS/CS:S fan, but I also played all R6 series. This is definitly a great game and 9.99 is well
worth it.

pretty decent. It seems fine in early release and first patch or so. Didn't continue playing. Each round might be longer for you if you are a hardcore UT/quake fan which those game often respawn you within sec. More tactic involved and you won't see unrealistic strafe and lots of BS AK spray in this game.

 
I agree. All Rainbow 6 were slow. Its a FPS that you actually have to PLAN with a map and team. I don't understand where you compare this with other FPS's. This game is in its own FPS category and yes, I played this series from the start and yes I am a hardcore gamer. In the end, almost all FPS go down to camping. But its never the best tactic depending on your situation. My cousins and I always host LAN parties during the holidays and Rainbow 6 is the one we play the most. Its filled with fun, co-op or not.

I actually like the newer version better, but maybe that's because I play offline more than most. In Rogue Spear your team is composed of idiots, seriously flawed in AI. Raven Shield has better AI (not up to SWAT 3, which is better) and the "one shot and you're dead forever" single player mode makes it very challenging, if sometimes annoying.

Sometimes there are issues with clipping, but overall it's a solid tatical shooter w/ nice graphics. (already own a copy or would jump on this)
