It's frightening really... all these clean cut, well spoken (english speaking) Iraqi kids commenting on America, Isreal, and a potential war with Iraq.

some quotes from them.

"America is the center of the new Axis Power"

"I would gladly blow myself up as a suicide bomber, for my country and my religion"

"It's not the people of America that we hate, it's your government, we love all people of the world"

"Saddam is the greatest ruler in Iraqi history"

"America is Evil"

"Isreal must cease to exist, as they are on Palistinean land"

Then following the interview, apparently the kids came up to Brokaw and asked him about popular American culture, movies, pop stars and so on.

This is scary stuff guys.
 
well it's good to know they only hate our government... they do need to brush up on their history in regards to palestine though.
 
Those kids are brainwashed. Do you think anyone of them has the balls to say Saddam is corrupt even if he really did believe it? No. why because he will get in really deep sh*t if he did. They are just boasting in front of the camera.
 
did you expect any less from them ? You keep telling someone something (good or bad) and its bound to sink in, you know those in Afghanistan believe US are the terrorists
 
What really cooked my noodle was when the Islamic world (by and large) rejected all of the conclusive evidence that Bin Laden was behind the bombings, including his own videotaped confession, and instead believed that we doctered the whole thing.

That might be true, they might just be boasting in front of the camera... however, you know that when al-Jaziera re-broadcasts that piece it will have a spin on it that will just reinforce the thoughts of more and more young Islamic folks that militism and terrorism are the answers to their problems.
