If he's walking on it then it can't be to bad.

Don't count on Eli too much, he'll let you down but if you're a Gigante fan you already know that.

Wow, will it take upsetting arguably the best team in history to give him some dap?

Yes, it will. He's gotten better (with some exceptions) as the season has gone on, but I think it's hardly enough to start calling him a stud.

exactly. While his short game has improved, his long game is pretty bad.

You are now just looking for something to complain about. He's been fine, noone said he was stud. Everyone can get off Farve's nuts now, kthxbye.

Just because no one likes Eli doesn't mean we're Brett nuthuggers. Go ahead and root for your overrated QB, mmmk?

lol, Eli overrated. All year it's been, "If you're going to play in this league, he's going to have to play better than that." Now he's overrrated.

Eli has outplayed every other QB in the league since Week 17. Personally, I think it's a combination of him finding more confidence, but also a reflection of the fact that teams have consistently tried to take away the running game and force Eli to beat them. I think this translates into less pressure.

Tom Brady seen without cast on...

"Just as Vegas shifted the odds on the big game, a seemingly broken Tom Brady looked good as new during a dinner date with his supermodel GF Gisele Bunchen last night in Manhattan. It's a miracle...Cameras caught the Super Bowl bound quarterback strolling out of Butter -- without the walking cast he was wearing earlier in the day!"

I think it's the result of the playcalling being tailored to Eli's strengths now. They're not asking him to throw bombs down the field every other play anymore. The playcalling has changed, there's no doubt about it, and Eli looks MUCH more comfortable in this scheme.

I agree with that. Looking back to the Pats / Giants game, though, I thought the Pats did a better job of getting after Eli late in the game and I thought his numbers took a big dip. When teams prepare to stop the run against you, it makes the passing easier. Without better playcalling and without more confidence, Eli would still suck - so clearly he's improving.

Since Week 17? So, for three games you say he's outplayed everyone else in a very limited field of QBs? In the Giants wild card game, he threw for a grand total of 185 yards in 20 completions. The week after that? Even less (163yards on 12 completions). This past weekend, he had better yardage, but worse percentage.

In general, the reason the Giants are winning is NOT because of Eli. The playcalling has been better (as ThePresence stated) and the rest of the team is really doing well. I've been impressed with them as a whole, but Eli the Whiner is not to thank.

Yep if the Giants would have held on to Philips and the others they had to let go to get Eli they probable have a REAL shot at winning the SB game.

that'd be a helluva psych-out.

if I were brady, I'd hang out in the hospital in a full body cast and then show up for the superbowl like nothing was wrong :p

True. But I think the passrush has been slowed down more because of the shorter passing game than teams trying to stop the run. The Giants have had a solid ground game all year and Eli was still pretty bad in the middle of the season. The Giants O-line is above average IMO, and they can stop passrushes if they don't have to hold them all day while Eli tries to get the ball downfield to Plax.
