If anyone could bungle an open and shut case like that it's freakin Goodell. That guy should be thrown out on his ass for a multitude of reasons.

Yes, and the 5 million dollar Wells report couldn't find any proof of any cheating either. But, I'm sure you could.

But, there is a reason he didn't want a private arbitrator to hear the appeal or want to show Brady's lawyers the notes from the investigation or let the co-lead Pash testify.

The NFL and ESPN seem to have taken notes from Baghdad Bob. Even when the judge was grilling the NFL's attorney's ESPN commentators were still saying the NFL would win.

You could cry when you get caught cheating and try to get off on a technicality.

Guilty of what? He got caught and then cried about it until he got off.

But I'm sure he appreciates the support of random internet guys like you.

what did he get caught doing? please provide us the proof.

Weaksauce. Is that actually the best you can dredge up? :D

Hey! I heard one time Russell Wilson walked by one of those Girl Scout tables without buying any cookies. He's suck a dick! Right? Right? Anyone?

weaksauce? lol.

do you understand what russel is doing? claiming a water will reduce the chances of people getting a concussion. He is going to have idiotic kids believing him and relying on this. then they are going to get cuncussions...

Russell is either a fool for believing it works or a asshole for lying and willing to get people hurt. He doesn't seem like a idiot so i have to lean to him willing to do anything ot make a buck.

I still don't understand how the refs who spot the ball before EVERY play didn't notice the underinflated balls....surely someone who has handled footballs for as long as they have been reffing would notice....

NFL already said they will appeal and as it appears the judge here injected his prejudice in the process, think it would be much more difficult for it to turn out the same way next time around. Just means it will be going on that much longer.

Over/Under on when Goodell gets sacked?

This league is hilarious, lets give control of the balls to the teams, but then not blame yourself when the teams try to find an advantage.

Prejudice? What prejudice is that? That he didn't agree with what you think he should have done? Have you read the ruling?

It will be interesting to see how Brady performs this season with the NFL appeal looming.

I read that excerpts where he made statements about how he believed the process should have been handled and made statements about how he thinks precedent should have applied in the matter. All of which is pretty much moot in the instance where there is a defined contract stating he can do as such which is why a majority of the legal analyst said the case would likely go against Brady as the judge wouldn't want to be appealed and if he did rule against the nfl they were almost assured of a win at the circuit appeal level.

Took a page from Goodell's book from past Patriot scandals, destroy the evidence.

What was the evidence?
Any texts were obtained by the NFL from those people they claimed were involved.

Was there some accurate gauge that he busted up?

Some voicemail that was deleted?

No one in the Pats system ever pointed any fingers or even implied that he was involved.

Even those that were canned by the organization

Always prejudice when things do not go ones way.

Easier than admitting that one is wrong - lay the blame elsewhere.

Nothing in the judge's ruling is based on opinion. He made sure of it; knowing that the NFL would appeal.

The NFL gambled and lost.

Rely on it how? Are they going to stop wearing helmets while playing? Purposely run into walls? Lol.

At the very worst they're going to shell out a few bucks for some water that they likely would have spent on Gatorade or soda anyway. This attempt to impugn someone else to distract from your own guys' actions are honestly a little sad.

Federal Laws (policy) are never moot even when a contract is signed.

Ex. there are specific reasons why arbitration awards can be overturned

9 U.S. Code § 10 - Same; vacation; grounds; rehearing

US Code

(a) In any of the following cases the United States court in and for the district wherein the award was made may make an order vacating the award upon the application of any party to the arbitration—
(1) where the award was procured by corruption, fraud, or undue means;
(2) where there was evident partiality or corruption in the arbitrators, or either of them;
(3) where the arbitrators were guilty of misconduct in refusing to postpone the hearing, upon sufficient cause shown, or in refusing to hear evidence pertinent and material to the controversy; or of any other misbehavior by which the rights of any party have been prejudiced; or
(4) where the arbitrators exceeded their powers, or so imperfectly executed them that a mutual, final, and definite award upon the subject matter submitted was not made.

Here is a passage from his ruling where he references the rules above with precedent from a case.

Courts have held that "[t]he absence of statutory provision for discovery techniques in arbitration proceedings obviously does not negate the affirmative duty of arbitrators to insure that relevant documentary evidence in the hands of one party is fully and timely made available
to the other party .... [A] failure to discharge this simple duty would constitute a violation of
FAA§ IO(a)(3), where a party can show prejudice as a result." Home lndem. Co. v. Affiliated Food Distribs., Inc., No. 96 Civ. 9707 (RO), 1997 WL 773712, at 04 (S.D.N.Y. then someone counters your claim with facts and you say they are sad for bringing it up?

Even a moron knows when to stop crying, you take the cake. You're the retard that brought up Russell Wilson into this thread and compared him to Brady.

Now, that we've learned that he's a fraud and shitty role model, no he's not a model citizen. Cry more!

One cannot undermine the fundamental right to a FAIR trial/appeal hearing with ANY contract. Yes, you can give a commissioner broad, sweeping powers but the PROCESS that determines that wielding of power MUST be done fairly. FUCKING AWESOME DAY!, hopefully this spells the end for that fuck-nuts Goodell.

I think in the end that will happen. A few owners were getting a little upset with Goodell. The fact that he is going to continue to push this can't be the favorable action.

though with the ruling i would think he HAS to. He was given unchecked powers and the courts said he has to be fair. eh doesn't want that!
