Are you too blinded by the socialist rhetoric your schools teach you to NOT see the oxymoron in this statement???

Capitalism IS freedom. There can be NO freedom if you cannot have economic freedom. There is NO freedom if you step on the necks of the successful in a vain attempt to help those who aren't. It has never worked, and it will never work.

No doubt instigated by the Trilateral Commission. The murderers chased him down with Black helicopters provided by the New World Order

I'm no conspiracy theorist, but it does seem awful convenient that this guy was very willing to talk about Enron's shortcomings when he left the company, he was supposed to testify before Congress as well. Seems a little too easy. I'm skeptical...and I think being skeptical of the incident is right...someone dies in a case like this, you gotta look at it in depth.

yes he was murdered because god forbid the truth was actually boring and simple and we have to add magical fanciful elements to the story with pixies and fairy dust and government coverups involving alien wreckage to provide meaning in our boring and plain lives

The guy wanted to be perfect. Valedictorian in Columbia business school. Doing everything right.
And now boom, he is subpenaed to testify in front of congress. Just couldn't deal with it.
I wonder if the S600 is really messed up. Such a nice car, would be a shame if it had holes in it.

Supertool, that's what I thought too, but I read some interviews with ex-coworkers and friends, that said he was very willing, almost eager to talk about how messed up Enron had gotten. That's what part of what made me skeptical. I know that he could have decided he didn't want that pain, etc, but he was willing to talk about what happened, and badmouth Enron then, why not do wait, and tell Congress how f'ed up the company was?

Socialism - by Herr Doktor Ludwig von Mises

First published in 1922. Good read. Shoots many holes (no pun intended) in socialist theory and agenda.

Besides, I'm Canadian. We're pretty socialistic as it is.

<< He had hired an attorney and knew it was likely he was about to be deposed and questioned by lawyers, federal investigators and maybe even Congress. In addition to questions about his work at Enron, there were questions about his own sale of more than 577,000 shares that garnered him $35.2 million between October 1998 and early 2001....

...Most acquaintances who chose to comment Friday said they couldn't imagine Baxter -- described by many as the consummate high-achieving nice guy -- taking his own life.

"He worked hard, but his family was still important," said Taylor, the executive search consultant. "He was an executive who took vacations, who went to Disney World every year. He was one of the guys who really cared."
>>

As I said before...he was going to spill the beans to Congress, and suddenly he ends up dead: how conveeeeeeeeeeeeeenient!

Last time I checked CNN they said they havn't disclosed any info on the Suicide note, does anyone have an update to this?
The way I see it, if the note says "Yes, I'm responsible for it all..." Then I'm skeptical. If the note goes and points out the ppl responsible (in which case Cliff Baxter would've known he's as good as dead anyway) then it may be a suicide.

Actually, these days being asked to testify before (lie to) Congress is the surest sign that you've "made it" in corporate success. My life won't be complete until I get to lie to Congress.

And what's with the upside-down quotes in amdwolfman's posts?
