Toilet Awfulness on Carrier with Bush name.

Naval commanders blamed the problems on inappropriate objects such as clothes or feminine hygiene products being flushed down the heads.

Right, because that doesn't happen on every other carrier (presumably with working toilets).

i never did like the fact that the ship was named after a living (and recent) president, never mind being named after sr while jr sits on the throne.

Many years ago, when I worked on aircraft carriers, a co-worker told me a funny story.
He was using the officer's head when an officer found all of the toilets in use, and the officer proceeded to loudly complain about all of the damn civilians using his bathroom.
When my co-worker emerged from the toilet, he held up his ID badge and told the officer "Do you know what this is? This is the highest rank there is- civilian."

Toilet 'outages' were rather common when I was stationed on the USS Abraham Lincoln. The disturbing fact though was that the personnel who worked on the system told me once that they had no complete schematic diagrams of the piping system. They relied upon guesswork and experience when isolating and repairing the CHT system. Oh, and we affectionately referred to them as 'Turd Chasers'.
