Unbelievable... 😱

Anyone think he probably just beat the kid to death and made up the "boxing lesson" story?

Homestead toddler reportedly dies after 'boxing lesson' with father

The Associated Press • August 4, 2010

7:38 A.M. — HOMESTEAD (AP) — A South Florida toddler is dead and his father charged with aggravated child abuse and neglect after allegedly punching the child in a "boxing" lesson.

According to Miami-Dade police, Lee Wille DeJesus told investigators he punched his son repeatedly, up to 15 times, while the boy was on a bed to teach him how to box.

Two-year-old Willy Brown underwent surgery at Miami Children's Hospital and later died.

DeJesus reportedly told investigators that the boy had been knocked off the bed and struck his head against a bedroom wall and tile floor. DeJesus allegedly waited 30 minutes to an hour to call 911.

DeJesus is being held at the Miami-Dade County jail on more than $57,000 bail.

What 2 year old needs to learn to box? I agree that he probably made it up. No one hits their kid that many times as a lesson

That's exactly what happened. Beyond a shadow of a doubt. A parent giving "lessons" to a toddler would obviously control the force to not even make the kid cry, let alone dead.

My exact thoughts. Parent is dumb and crazy...real REAL dumb and crazy...

This man is probably not going to be treated very well in prison. But, if he really was that evil and wanted to kill his son, I suspect that the other prisoners will figure that out, and serve their own brand of justice.

Child abuse from someone named Lee Wille DeJesus, color me shocked.

I bet alcohol was also a factor, much more then a "boxing" lesson.

It is like the story I posted where the boyfriend, beat, whipped, bit and raped the girl and tells the hospital that she just fell off the bed.

Who cares if the boxing story is true or not... send the bastard to prison so he can never reproduce again.

Toddler dies after accident incurred while playing with father
7:38 A.M. — HOMESTEAD (AP) — A South Florida toddler is dead and his father charged with aggravated child abuse and neglect after allegedly punching the child in what police are calling "a boxing lesson."

According to the man, he was playing with his almost 3 year old son with the popular "Sock 'em Boppers" that he said his son loved to play with when his son lost his balance after being struck softly with the air pillows and rolled off the back of his bed, striking his head.

The father said "He seemed fine at first, didn't even cry. We didn't think anything was wrong with him, but I stopped playing with him because he had banged his head. But about a half hour later, he suddenly started showing symptoms of a head injury, so we had him rushed to the hospital."

Investigators stated that the father had admitted to making contact to the child with the toys at least 15 times before the child fell off the bed. The father is being held on more than $57,000 bail.
Personally, I'll reserve judgment on the incident until more details are given. Unless the "boxing" lessons were a cover story to try to hide a serious assault on the child, I think the story as I wrote it could very likely be as close to the truth as the one quoted in the OP. I've got a scar on my forehead from falling down while playing the same way - hit it on the corner of the coffee table, and just about knocked one of my kids out when my glove failed and my hand went right through. (It sort of popped; wasn't a hard hit by any stretch of the imagination, but for a (4?) year old, it was hard enough.)

guess he hadn't learned bob and weave yet

why do you have to take verbal jabs after crossing a sad story like this? i know it was off the cuff, and it probably just slipped out after you were hooked by the thread title, but still. try to be a little more orthodox in your next riposte.

Well there are some impressively stupid people out there.

"But they did this stuff on TV all the time, why isn't it working like that now?"
