No, it's just a longstanding tradition performed by cats, methinks. I was randomly attacked by a cat at around that age too. The cat was sitting on a table, I walked by the table, next thing I knew I was all scratched up.

Ah, but I get my revenge now...you wouldn't believe how many kittens I manage to kill in one day. ;) :Q
