A toddler whose body was found inside the electric oven at his family's home died from heat injuries, according to preliminary results from medical examiners released Friday.
Washington County Coroner Methel Johnson said the pathologist was still trying to determine if 3-year-old Tristan Robinson was conscious when he was put inside the oven. He also appeared to have suffered trauma to his head.
Greenville Police found the boy's body at his mother's apartment Wednesday after responding to an emergency call just after midnight. The mother, 24-year-old Terrie A. Robinson, has been charged with murder. She is being held on a $5 million bond.
Police have declined to release many details because of the ongoing investigation.
Johnson said a little girl found in the home was placed in the care of the Mississippi Department of Human Services.
"I've seen a lot of things in my years doing this, but nothing like this," Johnson said. "I just thought about my grandchildren."
Terrie Robinson's twin sister, Sherrie Robinson, told WXVT-TV that people should not judge her sister before all the facts are known.
"She was a great parent, a good person. We don't know what's wrong. We don't know what happened. Do not sit there and call her a bad mom cause that's not what she is," Sherrie Robinson told the TV station. - AP

I can see her being a good mother. It was probably an accident that caused the head trauma and death. The oven thing was just a cover-up by a not-so-bright person who was scared. Good mom's can have accidents and anyone can be stupid when they are in a panic and time-constrained.

... i got angry as soon as i saw the title of this thread. i was hoping it was some dumb joke.

The mom is reported to have said,
"He heard us talking about "getting baked" and said he wanted to do it too."

How's that? Dumb enough? :whiste:

I wonder if we'll ever know why this happened. WTF was going on in the woman's head?
Then again, things just as heinous happen nearly every day...and we don't get too worked up about them.

A mother who puts her baby in an oven is not "a bad mom"? I'd love to know what she thinks does qualify as a bad mom.

Wow i saw this sotry a while ago and it made me sick and angry. Just imagine what type of pain this kid must have been. This is officially one of the sickest things i have ever heard and the mother deserves the harshest penalty possible, also she should have her tubes tied.
Not everyone should be allowed to have a child. D:

Into the oven with the heat on?

Yeah thats what I'd think if my child banged his head.

Not phone for the paramedics, or drive like a lunatic to the nearest hospital.

Put the oven on and hide him in there. That'll make everything OK.😵

Well according to the sister we don't have all the facts yet so we shouldn't jump to any conclusions. There may have been extenuating circumstances such as:

1. Posession by Satan
2. Baby could have been drunk and absusive
3. Baby could have been recklessly waving a gun in her face
4. Her other kids occupied all the corners of the house requiring her to get creative with the 'time out'

Point is... we just don't know. :hmm:
