re: Sec of State

I'd rather she not have had any role in it. because now she has to justify why she's helping in NO today after shopping and seeing a broadway show in NYC yesterday.

I'd have been more than happy to buy that this is totally out of her sphere of influence.

Russert was really letting his bias show today. Whether or not the administration is at fault he was really unprofessional to melt down like that.

Can you give me a number of needless deaths are required to have a "meltdown"?

Owned.

You're stupid. If it was ENTIRELY the administration's fault he shouldn't break from his duty as an unbiased newsman. If you think the state and local gov't doesn't deserve some of the blame you are braindead. :disgust:

Great argument.

Russert didn't meltdown. It is his show and the interviewee, Chertoff had decided to evade the questions Russert was asking. Russert was aggresive yes. He resorts to that when the question begged is dodged.

I always try to catch MTP. It's going to reair Monday morning at either 2:00 or 3:00 AM.

I remember Condi Rice's first ocnfrontation with Russert. She was scared to death to the point of near meltdow and Russert was treating her with velviet gloves.

Speaking of the Secretary of State, United States, what the heck was doing grabbing photo op today loading hurricane suppliis? She has a real job. It is interfacing with our allies and keep our enemies at bay.

now we know that it was all local officials that screwed this up and the secretary of DHS can't go on TV and play the blame game. he had to evade the questions

Like I asked in another thread, how old are you?

The way you post, it sounds like things go way over your head.

You're right, everything is over my head. You are so smart. I am 85 years old.

If your are 85 years old, that would explain a lot. Thanks.

But at your age you would think that personal attacks are immature, but what do I know, I'm just a measly youngin'.

😉

Russert did a good job.

Aaron Broussard and Harry Lee are good guys. They were there doing their jobs when I was living in Metairie. I like the way Lee was ready to kick some FEMA ass.

"FEMA comes in and cuts all of our emergency communication lines. They cut them without notice. Our sheriff, Harry Lee, goes back in, he reconnects the line. He posts armed guards on our line and says, "No one is getting near these lines."

There will be a lot of blame to go around but I think FEMA and the administration are going to take the biggest hit.

You should have seen the on-scene fox news reporters:
http://movies.crooksandliars.com/Hannity-Colmes-Smith-Rivera-freak-in-NO.wmv

Rivera was crying, and Smith was really pissed. Meanwhile, Hannity was trying to put positive spin on the whole situation.
Heraldo and Shep were doing a great job. Take note all of you Fox haters. Heraldo was even helping with saving people, especially some of the older folks stuck in their homes by themselves.

I wouldn't really call it hate for the channel, just annoyance with the whole "we're fair and balanced" mantra they like to claim every second of every day - as well as a few specific individuals they have on there who are complete partisan hacks. (ie: Hannity)

it's a shame that it takes a disaster of this magnitude to humanize them
