I have to talk my wife off the ledge everytime she has to turn on my HT setup.

Here is woman with 80 employees and she looks like a turtle laying on its back whenever she has watch anything on it.

oh, right. speaking of which, I have to finish reading that dilbert book my friend let be borrow.... heehee "cable is not a viable solution, and in five years ISDN will rule all". :D

I assume you're talking about the cheapy $10 universal remotes, and not the $100 universal remotes...

Suppose at the end of a dvd, I want to see what's on tv.
I have to pick up the tv remote, change it to video 1.
Pick up the receiver remote, change it to video.
Pick up the cable remote, turn on the cable box, select channel to start at.
Pick up the dvd remote, turn off the dvd player.

Or, I can pick up my universal remote, the movement of picking it up turns it on, illuminating the touch screen. Press the tv icon on the screen, and everything is done for me. The better remotes can be programmed to do *every* function your other remotes do.

(but, beware. People who cannot read a manual shouldn't try to set up universal remote controls)

I think you missed the part about him saying that ISDN was also a POS because it was so hard to set up.
