I thought someone else would mention this but I don't see anything. The same deal as last week. The Iomega 12x10x32 cost 49.99 + tax out the door. There is a $30 rebate (and maybe a $50 rebate) available that's good through 1-5-01.

That's $53.61 - $30 = $23.61. Not too shabby. If you're feeling lucky, you might want to try the $50 version of the rebate that was found on the Office Max website.

I think the deal was only good today, Jan 1, and I believe the store closes at six today. That doesn't give you much time if you're interested here in Houston. When I was there a couple of hours ago, they still had a stack of twenty or so on top of the back shelves.

Here's the previous thread about the same deal (last week):
Iomega 12x at Frys for $19.99. Dec 26.

$30 rebate form from Iomega.com

$50 rebate form from Officemax.com I'd check this before using it. Seems strange that there are two forms that seem exactly the same except that one offers an extra $20.

Not all of the Iomega 12x drives are of the Plextor variety. The newer ones are not Plextor drives.

CHRIST, people, READ THE OLD THREADS?

How many times in how many different ways are people going to ask the same question?

The $50 rebate is NOT NOT NOT an OfficeMax specific rebate, so you don't need to PM to OM. Besides which, good luck finding any at OM, I haven't seen them there for months.

Just buy them at Frys and send in the $50 rebate and quit worrying about it!

Is this deal still good today (1/2)? I could really use a new CD drive for our second computer, and it might as well be a burner...

Just for all to know. I searched and searched thru many of the boxes last week and the drives they are selling now are almost all LITE-On. I had one RMA'd also and received a LITE-On.

Lite On is better than Plextor cause I got one in a Universal Buslink box. ;)

for those who can't find them at Frys, ask them to print you out a quote and try to PM at OM, but as talonts mentioned you might not even find them at OM

Anyone still looking for this Iomega 12x10x32, the Fry's off Brokaw in San Jose has 1 more left...ONE MORE LEFT (I took 3 30 min ago :p)!!! Go get it...last day for rebate. Price is marked as $99.99...rings up as $49.99. It's located on the bottom shelf, with the plastic tie wrapped around it. Good luck!

Does anyone know how to tell if it's a Plextor, Lite-On, or Sanyo drive? The firmware doesn't indicate it being a Lite-On.
