I've never done that before.
I feel so... liberated.

So do you pitch or catch, then?

Go away, kid.

Presence, I'd give you a much fuller response, but I'm about to fall asleep at my desk here... So, instead, I'll just say congrats, and mark this for later to give you my fuller comments on the thread at a later date...

I used to be a lot more open, but have since closed myself off more and more due to befriending the wrong type of people during my life. I'm still very open with people that are truly close and loyal friends.

Congrats and I hope you enjoy life better after discovering yourself.

I'm sure it's great for you and all, but why did we need to know, especially if you don't feel like actually explaining anything to us ;)

Glad that you can relax from holding up a mask.

Good for you!

moments like that are sometimes good opportunities to make changes that stick.

Care to be a little less cryptic?

What was all this about?
Well, I was talking to a friend of mine who also happens to be a psychologist. But we were just talking, not in a professional capacity. And out of nowhere he mentioned something that he's always noticed about me, etc, how I can never open up and talk about myself honestly without trying to impress others. It basically turned into a 3 hour therapy session. I never in my life would've thought that therapy could do me any good. It's the most honest conversation I've ever had with anyone.

I need to ask you this then. Then I'm off work.
I spent the first 15 years of my life trying to fit in, after varsity, a sequence of events which I will not elaborate on now turned the rest of my life around.

1. I gave up my directorship two months ago. Shocked the company. I worked so hard for it.
2. I sold all three of my cars, and now I ride a scooter
3. My "friend" count from over 100 down to a handful, ALL of which ... I'm lost for words... when we speak, do so in the purest, simplest and honest manner.
4. One of them is my girlfriend and will be my wife.

I gave up a s*5tload to experience what I have today. I hope you know what I'm referring to. I dont expect ATOT to.

I know exactly what you mean.
I don't expect to make any drastic changes myself though.
Some friends will probably just drop away because we will no longer find any common ground, but I will not intentionally distance myself from them.

I'd love to talk to a psychologist too. But all they would do is say "Yes. I see. Interesting." and put me on meds.

How can you possibly know what they'd do if you won't go visit one?

Because I used to go to one. And that is exactly what he did.
It's been about 13 years since then.

Maybe try giving someone else a chance.

I'm sure I will one day. When I get insurance that covers things like that.

What was it like to finally realize that deep down inside you really are an Eagles fan?

I've done some therapy, and I agree it can be a very liberating experience. What it has taught me is that to experience the intimacy that was missing in my life, I had to make it happen by being more trusting and intimate with the people in my life.

The really great thing is that it has worked!
