Today is going to be long

It is only 9:10am and I've been at work for what seems to be an eternity. I really don't have anything to do for work except prepare for a Word 2002 class I teach tomorrow afternoon. Of course, the class material is simple and I really don't need to prepare. Looks like it may be time to play some Yahoo Pool or something.

How is work going for you others in the work force?

Going OK......... I have three designs that I inherited when another engineer left that have problems. The parts are for Nissan, and since Nissan is getting ready to launch their new models this summer/fall, I have limited time to fix the problems.

Add in work for my grad school classes, and I keep myself busy most of the time!

I am on campus from 8AM - 11PM on Tuesdays... I know how those long days can be :/

I was supposed to have my work done at 9am this morning for my class and its 10:18 and I'm certainly not getting any closer to having it done... GET TO WORK!

I stayed up until 2AM watching episodes of 24. I was 15 minutes late to work (7AM). Now I'm sitting here and trying to keep my eyes open....

After an hour and a half of gruelling Latin History, I only have Spanish and a CS lab left. Done at 1:20.

After that, I'm not sure. I could make it a long day, but I'll probably end up just slacking off since I worked my ass off yesterday.

Hmmm, so you've got nothing to do but prepare for a word 2002 c;ass huh? That's quite the load there minendo. When my work day starts tonight I'll be doing everyone else's job because the some of the people I work with are morons. Typical things I do on a day to day basis that aren't my job are:

- Grant people access to apps on the server
- Grant people access to their own home directory
- Grant people access to a network drive that's vital to their job
- Make sure they are actually running a login script
- Waste my valuable time ensuring that we have the correct information for every user because the planner is an absolute moron and a trained monkey could do his job better
- Go back and forth with the data movers to make sure they have the right info because the moron planner never does his job right
- Replace defective hardware that should have been replaced long before I get there
- Hunt down drivers and apps for hardware that the moron planner didn't tell us about
- Go back and clean up after some people because they're too stupid to follow directions
- Locate network printers that were never moved over to the new server because the moron planner never did his job right
- Download drivers again for misc. hardware because some idiot keeps blowing away the drivers on the server
- Tear apart machines that the LAN admins have assured me are functional only to find out that they have no memory or the motherboard is shot
- Go back and clean up after said LAN admins when they actually try to help out my team 'cause they're a few grapes short of a fruit salad
- Pick locks to secure areas because the moron planner never arranged to get us access (this one's always fun)
- Go blind working in the dark because the moron planner never arranged for the lights to stay on in the evening
- Come up with my own install instructions because the folks that right them are too busy playing Quake so they are rarely correct

Hmmm, that's about all I can think of for now. I know there's more that I do on a daily basis but I'm sure you get the point. This is what I get to look forward to every day and the sad part is that I still love my job. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment.

Today is just a slow day because I have everything else finished. Next week I have to start the move of our department websites from one server to another and some other stuff, but I am not sure of details until I meet with the head of the department on Thursday.

surprisingly, today is also extremely slow for me. I've only received 1-2 emails so far.

Been heavily surfing the net and reading each and every of ATOT.

man.. its only been 3 hrs.. how am I going to survive the other 6 hrs? I've got lots of reading to do, but haven't found the mood to do so.
