haaha didnt take it that way at all congrats!

But did you post about it on atot? 😛

I quit for 13 years.........Then picked it back up by smoking several cigars. It was only two weeks before I bought a carton of cigs and was off and running again.
After 5 years of trying to quit again, I'm 6 months nicotine free as of yesterday, 11/14/06.

Congrats...but treasure being smoke free.

Congrats.
Feb. is 2 years for me after smoking a pack a day for 10 years.
I still want a smoke every now and then, but there is no way in hell I'll cave in.
I feel 1000x better. I take real deep breaths just to show myself that I can do it without breaking into a coughing fit.
I actually feel good when I wake up in the morning.
I will never smoke again.

congrats

8 years here, cold turkey, not puff except for second hand smoke.

I still think about it though and still want a cigarette after a heavy meal. I just dont trust myself enough to smoke one.

There is a reason a lot of people still smoke, its an addiction and shoud be treated as such.

I am so tired of hearing people say, I can quit anytime I want, I just dont want too (denial).

sorry for the mini rant congrats.

Congrats, and hello 🙂

Tonight will be 1 month for me, after a brief stint of picking up the habit again in the summer (beer & golf = smoking).

BTW, you still pwn the phone.

Over a year for me. I find it absolutely disgusting now, althought I do smoke an occasional cigar and I do smoke shisha every once in a while.

I used to say that all the time when I was a smoker. Guess what, I did. Just stopped one day, never to smoke again. Sure, it's an addiction but I think it's breakable. I know I broke it. It takes willpower and mental toughness, but I think those that try and say they can't are either weak, don't really want to stop or are using the addiction as an excuse to continue.

Of course it is breakable; what makes it an addiction is that quitting isn't as easy as just not doing it again. It is a struggle for almost anyone who has smoked significant amounts of cigs.
