You know, I've been borderline on this subject lately...

I don't really know how to explain it, I guess. I believe that there is a lot we don't know, but all the religious nonsense kinda bugs me.

isn't that being agnostic?

<--not really sure.

Yeah, I believe it is...

actually the freedom of speech allows you to express your opinion. you don't need it just to have your own opinion 😛

Yeah, I believe it is...

here, i'll clear it up:

A. n. One who holds that the existence of anything beyond and behind material phenomena is unknown and (so far as can be judged) unknowable, and especially that a First Cause and an unseen world are subjects of which we know nothing.

I think not believing in god would be freedom of religion anyway...

OK,

This is my theory...
When you doing some girl, you shoot your stuff, it travels up a river, fertilizes an egg, then 9 months later
a baby grows out of her stomach.

And all of that came from some single cell a long ass time ago...........um....yeah... sure............................

Well if you don't know how things work, of course you're going to think it's magical and that God somehow must play a role in it. Show an aircraft carrier with hundreds of jets to somebody that lived 2 thousand years ago, and they would think it's a divine creation. But we know it starts with a single piece of steel and lots of time and work, and no magic or divine intervention is involved.

My parents use to laugh at me when i believed in God. They're logical people though. Took me a few years to understand the logic behind it. I was brainwashed by a local church that us kids use to go to at night to play sports... at the end of the night, we always had a session of brainwashing.

my mom is the opposite. i was forced into sunday school and confirmation. the day i was confirmed was the last day i stepped foot in a church. (save weddings or funerals)

A believer might point out though that someone built the carrier, and that a human, or an ant, or even a single cell is orders of magnitude greater in complexity than an aircraft carrier. To turn the analogy around, if a scientist found an airplane in a cornfield, would he be more likely to think that someone built it and put it there, or that all the pieces somehow worked themselves together over the past five billion years?

Aunt Isla, how come God only had a son? Why didn't he have a daughter, too?"

Mary

? i thought jesus was mary's son. that would mean god's daughter gave birth to god's son.

Wow, it seems like a lot of people (or at least who feel like posting) has no belief in God here or the existence of him. I believe that there is a God (one) and that his son (Jesus) came to earth to save us.

Also, gopunk... Mary was not God's daughter. She was used to carry God's son in human form.

All religion is a psychosis. Gawd gave up on the "faithful" eons ago. You simply weren't worth it....fight among your selves.
