Target BM clearance item, so YMMV. Intellimouse Optical (5 buttons) for $19.98 plus tax. Other MS mice also on clearance.

Saw this same mouse at Office Depot for $14.99 as part of their 'Expo Sale'.

Take it back to Target :D

And yes Microsoft's phasing out the corded mice...moving to cordless.

You sure about that Office Depot price; I saw it yesterday and thought that the $5 off applied to the Optical Mouse (3 button), not to the Intellimouse Optical (5 button). But, I may be wrong about what it was supposed to be.

That's just wrong--mice need tails. The cordless pointing device should be called guinea pigs (no tail).

DOH! I have the 3-button Optical also, and didn't catch the 5-button ref...yeah, the Target deal's better :disgust: Wish I'd seen this before. Poop. No worries, though...I'll buy the Target, swap the 'innards' of the box with the OD box, and return it.

Thanks!

I cleaned out the Jenison, MI (49468) store @ $9.98/each on Thursday. Yes I threw out the receipt. I dunno if they were mispriced or what; they were marked at $27.88?? A price scanner was close by so I scanned everything. Gonna run up to Kentwood and get the 3 that I know were there on Monday. Also, Last week, Wyoming, MI (49509) Office Depot had Microsoft Internet keyboards on their clearance table for $5.99 (they're gone now...), but Kentwood (49512) was still shelf priced at $19.99 for the same keyboards so YMMV.

Please don't do that--it's illegal. (And don't shoot me with your Uzi)

Not only is it illegal, but don't they look completely different? =D

yes they look different, since the the one that target is selling is the optical mice that contain the two silver buttom on the side of the mouse, while the OD one is just the wheel mouse w/0 the silver buttom.

Nice to see blatant fraud is alive and well in the land, even when the perpetrator is obviously too stupid to do it effectively!

FWIW, we ALL pay for this kind of crap, just as we do to make up the difference in merchandise shoplifters steal. To me, this sort of tactic is exactly on a par with the shoplifters too.

Go tell your mother she should be ashamed of you! :disgust:

Wrong, you are paying for niftyness with a cordless mouse, the regular wired Intellimouse is still faster and prefered by most serious gamers.

Agreed. Fraud==bad, especially when good deals are around

FWIW, local Target (Raleigh, NC) has it on clearance, but for $31.90. blech.

Fortunately, went on pricewatch and found it for $21.50 SHIPPED!

WIll have to check Target tomorrow.. I have one already, and if they're gonna be phasing them out for crappy wireless solutions, I had better stock up.

Target is not phasing out corded mice. They got the new blue optical mice in. I've seen the corded and cordless Intellimouse Optical at stores near me. They're clearing out alot of stuff because the electronics dept is getting their X-mas reset. They're even carrying Logitech and Altec Lansing speakers now. When your stores get the reset, make sure you check out the butt ugly Michael Graves cordless keyboard and speaker system. Sometimes I seriously wonder what Target's buyers are thinking.

btw...I picked up the beige Intellimouse Optical's for $9.98 on Monday for a friends daughter. She's finally gone optical :)

Whoa whoa guys! Hold on!

First off, I found the EXACT SAME MOUSE (verified Microsoft part number) at Target, $22.42. Bleh. $6 wouldn't pay for the effort and extra gas.

Second, I would've switched the molded plastic casing that contains the mouse, CD, and documentation, with like for like. The ONLY difference between the mouse and the box would be the printed serial number on the box and on the mouse. As I said previously, Microsoft is phasing out the (and here's where my mistake in my previous occured) corded optical mice, moving to the cordless optical mice (such as the blue you saw). Yes, you may've seen corded mice still on the shelves, but once they're gone, they're gone. The only corded optical you should expect to see is a cheaper version of the Optical 3-button mouse to replace the low-end ball-mouse you most likely saw for around $15.

...and if you want to talk about fraud, let's talk about the 4mm customers a year who return 'new' items, used, in closed packaging for a full refund, only for future customers to return home with an obviously used item. THAT is sick. I've had this happen many times to myself, and in my previous life as a retail salesperson, had to learn to open the returned item completely to insure it hadn't been used (with the exception of 'it's broke').
