After posting a reply/thread on an online forum or a comment on a blog, who is the owner of that material? Is it the writer, the thread starter, or the owner of the forum?

In most cases the owner of the forum, most forums will specify this in their TOS. For example, http://Madison.com uses some of it's forum posts and comments for a printed publication.

I think some are along the lines of you retaining the legal right to what you say, but giving permission for the forum owners to use them in any way they wish.
