Little bit more.

You take home 670K a month. Damn, can you hook me up with a job?

670K a month???:Q

How about 6,700.;)

So that would be 6.0%. 0.06% would mean you'd take home 670K. :p

Edit: Doh, a minute too late.

My "work" car? - $0 - My work car
Our "Family" Car: 2002 Mazda Millenia: $405 per month. Interest rate: 4.99%

If I was working, the Milenia would be 6% of my gross income. However, my mortgage is only 16% of my income (before the tax incentives) - so, I can afford to pay a bit more for our car.

What do you do for a living? Your quite lucky (alto I assume you worked for it)...congrats! Hopefully I'll be in that position one day.

Thanks, I'm a Systems Engineer for development of Unmanned Combat Air Vehicle (UCAV) program.

Well, not exactly a weapon. But it is a full sized combat aircraft, just no pilot.;)

So your an aeronautical engineer?

btw I have a question: what exactly does a system engineer do?? How are they different from other engineers?

Yes... Systems Engineers coordinated and control of the various components within a system and monitor, control, and manage complex engineering systems.
We are capable of using a strong analytical ability to grasp the "big picture" of a system and skilled at communicating technical matters effectively with traditional engineers.

We do some disigning, but mostly, our job deals with analyzing the engineering process and provide inputs to the disigners and sub-system engineers.

So that means you pretty much look at how the different components of the Vehicle operates and talk to the engineers of those systems and coordinate the development?

So how difficult is that in comparision to those who design the sub-systems?

Um... Ok, now I know I'm just being a dick, but am I the only one who is a little bit disturbed that the guy who "communicat[es] technical matters effectively with traditional engineers " doesn't know how a % sign works?

As a matter of fact.. <scratching head> Isn't this just about the same as the way the hubble telescope got so screwed up? A measurement was passed along in inches that was supposed to be in cm, or something to that effect?

I don't know if it's more difficult than the traditional engineering, but I have to be
well versed in engineering process (and reversed engineering process) and have
a good understanding of all the systems within my team. It is very similar to
systems integration type of work.

So when you say "systems" what do you mean exactly??

Thanks a lot for your information!

Like, Aero packaging, Engine, COG, Mission Control System, Avionics, Integrated Health Management System
Weapon systems, Vehicle Management System, Mission Management system...etc

And you are welcome.;)

I paid cash for my '00 Chevy Monte Carlo.

Instead of buying a car and paying for it later I saved some first, and purchased the car once I had enough. It is much cheaper that way, trust me! :)

$6700 a month and you drive a Camaro? I hope your bombs are better engineered than your car...
