The whole gold box series (particularly PoR, Curse of the Azure Bonds, and Champions of Krynn)

Pirates!

Battletech (I have this on emu and am going to finish it, the last map room stumped me back in the day. And that first training exercise where pressing the button magically sped you up <ugh>)

Airborne Ranger

H.E.R.O.

Project Firestart (this game still freaks the crap out of me)

Barbarian (decapitation never gets old)

Lode Runner

Ikari Warriors (I know the conversion BLOWS but damn I loved the arcade game too much to care)

Oh, man, go play with something else for awhile. Five, six, seven minutes later, your game might be loaded.

Yeah, I remember waiting for about 12 minutes for Manic Miner to load, only for it to crash as soon as you pressed the fire button!!!

Who could forget classics like Elite, The Last Ninja, Beamrider, Green Beret, Wizball.

I still have my brothers C64, but it isnt set up, so I use my emulator.

My Favorites were

AIRBORNE RANGER
SUMMER GAMES
WINTETR GAMES
CALIFORNIA GAMES
MULE
Little computer people

Knight's quest (or something)

Man there were a ton of GREAT GAMES on that system now everyone just tries to make a pretty game when thoose you had to use some imagination.

It's been so long ago, I do remember playing Pitfall and Pole Position. I played on both the 64 and 128.

I also remember how my Dad would set me in front of the computer with a programming book and I would do his work for him..........

Thanks to tm37 - this thread is worthless without MULE.

Some of my favorites that have not been mentioned aside from MULE:
MULE (of course)
Tangled Tales
Labyrinth
OMEGA
Knights Of Legend
Space Rogue

One should note that with the exception of Labyrinth which was LucasFilm, the others are Origin. There was a time when Origin made more than just Ultima and Wing Commander games. They made games that were disturbingly complex...almost to the point of unplayability. But once you got over the learning curve, they were amazing.

Raid On Bungling Bay, Pole Position, Test Drive, Winter Games, and Qbert... I had a ton more cause my dad ran an authorized Commodore repair center.

I had a Vic20, C64 and eventually moved up to the Amiga 500....mmm Silent Service and Flight Sim. Those were fun days. 😉

I was just looking through my old collection of C64 disks and remembered these favorites:

Raid On Bungling Bay - Helicoptor game where you had to bomb the factories and the battleship. That game RULED!!

Little Computer People - Type in commands and watch the computer do sh!t around the house. Had a very limited parser if I remember correctly.

Hotwheels - One of my favorites as a kid. I remember building the cars, painting them, tuning them up, putting the fire out and all that stuff. That game was cool too.

Pirates! - The original. Pretty much speaks for itself.

Pole Position - Cheese racing game I used to play with my dad.

Test Drive - The original game. I used to get so mad at that game.

Wow, that brought back a pleathora of memories. Good times.

Raid on Bungeling Bay is, in my opinion, still one of the best and most difficult games ever made.

And I played Pole Position some.

Did you ever play "Stealth"? It was released by Broderbund. I haven't played that game in years, but for some reason I've wanted to all week.

I have never heard of Stealth. What was the idea of the game?

Oh yeah, MULE... we were still playing that in 1994, even though we had a 486DX266 on the other desk 😛
I was so disappointed when MULE386 was never finished, it looked awesome for the time.
