To those who don't drink alcohol, what is your reasoning?

I'll drink socially occasionally but it's not really my thing. I usually prefer to remember my good times...I also always said that I could drink as long as I knew when to quit, but last time I got trashed I obviously didn't....ended up pissing myself, puking, giving myself a DEEP bruise on my side while being the sole participant in drunk olympics...yeah it sucked.
 
Alcohol is a depressant. That and I just can't use it responsibly...so I don't drink. No big loss...I don't need to be drunk to feel comfortable in that atmosphere now. 🙂
 
Alcoholism runs rampant in my family. Plus, it's hard to digest and I like to maintain about 9-11% body fat. Finally, don't like the feeling of waking up with dry mouth and hangover.
 
Not 21 so I'll drink what I can get, don't like beer (with the exception of corona) so if beer is all that is at a party I won't drink usually.
 
There are better things to do that ingest junk that doesn't even taste all that great to get a trippy feeling. If I want that feeling, I can just run until I'm exhausted. I don't even like wine all that much.
 
never had a beer in my life...tried it as a kid, hated the taste, have no desire to try it again...I understand people who like beer for how it tastes, but people who drink it for the sole purposeof getting trashed are no different than people who take drugs to get wasted, and both are pretty much losers in my book..even more pathetic are the people who brag about being "so drunk"...
 
I don't drink because
a) I'm underage by a few months still
b) I'm on medications that preclude the use of alcohol

I don't get drunk because
a) I like having full control over my mental facilities (I didn't even use nitrous when I got my wisdom teeth out)
b) I don't like the idea of the potential negative consequences (stupid decisions, hangovers, etc)
c) Religious reasons
d) Unnecessary and unprecedented in my group of friends
e) Alcoholism runs in the family

28, and don't drink myself. I tried it, but taste bad. Had no pressure put on me to keep drinking like most others, so I don;t drink. Also one of the VERY few, if any, in the area I grew up in to get a FULL college degree. Most are idiots that work some dead end job, but hey, they got beer money.
