I hope that you are not buying it banking on it's stability (esp considering it is a first generation mobo for nvidia). This news post from AMDzone tells all fromt he Abit Euro roadshow:

<< nForce: Abit has no time schedule for when a motherboard based on the nForce chipset will be out. They are doing tests on it currently, but have not yet managed to get it to run completely stable. They are now therefore working on solutions to this... Nvidia haven't made motherboard chipsets before so Abit want to test it thoroughly before releasing a board to the public... >>

Hmmm, Abit finding the board not stable. DEFINITELY, an issue when Abit uses the phrase not completely stable (and up until now I wasn't sure if Abit knew the word stable existed).

Yeah, actually every Abit I've had has been awesome. Asus gave me nothing but CRAP (one bugy board, one fried board, one dead on delivery, one works...). I'm now a firm believer in Iwill...

The nForce thing is to be expected. It's like a whole new platform, and the first gen is going to have plenty of problems. I decided not to touch the nForce until gen 2.... I learned my lesson from Intel's oh so awesome i820 chipset........ fog hats.

The last 3 mobo's I had were Abit's and all were stable. Hell one was a Via chipset but it was still stable.

It's funny how van smith claimed it had 100% stability, yet 3 months down the road abit doesn't...

Is normal? i.e. Do new mobo's based on intel chipsets have "stability issues" in this time frame? Or is nforce not quite as perfect as the various drool & bootlick articles are claiming?

Shrug, Abit said the same thing about their AMD760 board, the KG7, and it seems to be a giant mess anyway. Remember, Abit was waiting to release it to make sure it was done right? And now it's frying AGP cards left and right? Funny that Asus, Epox, MSI all had stable AMD760 boards out a long time ago.

1. ka7
2. epox
3. a7v
4. kg7
5 aopen board

maybe abit has gone down since the days of the kx133

This is funny news, especially because Van Smiths article contradicts this, and all these Abit stability supporters comin' out of the woodworks!! LOL, I still think Nvidia should stick to what they are good @...Making and selling extremely expensive and cool video cards... :)

I duno why there were so many Abit instability post. Every Abit board I used is stable as hell. Even my good old BX6/2. Running for over 2 years non-stop.

We'll see who's talking if the nForce is the fastest Athlon/Duron chipset on the planet. ;)

hmm.. well, my Abit board (KT7A) would be stable if I took out my SoundBlaster Live! and pretended that Zip drive wasn't there. Oh and if it was normal to have to turn the system on and off and then on again to get it to POST.

I was planning on nforce simply because it is an all-in-one solution and nVidia has a history of stability, performance, and many driver updates.. of course that's in the video card market, not chipset.. If they are unstable, SIS735 all the way.

I got a Abit KT7A raid mobo and its my first abit mobo. It is very stable and never had many problems at all. Been having it for about 6 to 10 months now.

I wouldnt mine Abit mobo or a Asus mobo.
Not sure what mobo i will try next. Maybe Asus, maybe abit again, maybe some other brand. Not sure.
It just seems strange how some people say Abit and Asus is the two top of line mobos and now it seems like they arent no more for some people. Its hard making a decision on a mobo i think. I wish i could try them all then make a decision then i could make a better decision.

I loved my Abit BH6. Newer VIA chipset boards by Abit haven't been as good though. KG7, KT7A, etc...

I figure it's 70% VIA's fault and 30% Abit's. They just seem to be having more problems lately. Just my observations.
