1) Get a 4670K instead of a 4770K
2) If it had been a lot sooner yes, but then my new build is making use of many other recent components, it wasn't only Haswell I was waiting for.

There is never any information on the sub-15W parts. There never has been and it makes me think there never will be. I really dont care about the performance of crap that intel is hawking for $300+ just like I dont care about the performance of a $140,000 car. I've believed for years now that intel has conspired with apple to divide up the two market segments and everything I'm seeing still proves that is what they've done. Intel seems to have no interest in penetrating the line they drew with apple many years ago. The surface pro thing was just a token gesture. Just like all this XXXXY crap coming out of intel is just a token gesture. No one is building anything, no one is selling anything. Its just a big frickin vapor orgy. There will not be a market for ULV haswell because no one is going to pay $1000 for an ipad poisoned by microsoft. And for a notebook there is no reason to pay out the yazoo for the ULV form factor. Its not a tablet and will never be a tablet even if they shave off a pound.

i was thinking about upgrading to an haswell i5 from my i5 760, once the lower models are released and prices become stable. But after looking at benchmarks, i think getting a used 2500k is not a bad upgrade and i will go for it and spend the saved money on upgrading other components. Had a lots of hope from haswell, but they are shattered now.
