This is for you, baffled2, GirlFriday, Isla, Elita1, and so many, many others.
SMALL WONDER (A Tribute to Mothers Everywhere)
The Lord God painted the sunset,
Then hung it against the sky.
His power shattered the great ribbed rocks
To pattern the mountains high.
And you have gathered some rainbow scraps
For a quilt on a worn old bed
In a small, safe circle of hugs and laps,
Where no harsh words are said.
The Lord God measured the oceans out
And numbered each grain of sand;
He snapped His fingers, and galaxies
Came tumbling from His hand.
God made the world while lightning played
Beneath the celestial dome;
And, under a low roof, you have made
The miracle of Home.
