Do you gals get many PMs that are (a) from sucking-up f@pboyz or (b) rude and nasty just because you're female?

This has been mentioned a few times, that the females suffer from more PMed abuse and attention than the rest of the members. It's not true for me at least, the only PMs I usually get are the normal comments on threads, nothing because I'm a female, because I've posted my pic, or because people think I'm attention whoring. I'm wondering if I'm the exception or the rule for the femme ATers.

Actually most of my pm's are from my friends or trading business, I've had the occasional nastygram but not
too bad.I consider pm's one of the more entertaining aspects of AT

Well if you do you can always use the ignore option fior your PM's , that way the faceless cowards can't bother you.

Yeah, that's a nice feature. I've never had to use it though, thankfully. I get enough junk in my email accounts, it's pleasant that my PMs stay clean.

Thanks for the reminder ! the "ignore" option has worked really well in the couple instances I've needed to use it !

The question is, do the females get nasty PMs? I've heard from a few of them that they have, either hitting on them or being rude (evidently someone made a few choice comments to Shelly about the more eye catching parts of her pic, some nice intro to AT) but by and large, I don't think it's as bad as I used to think it was for the other females.

I'm going to play Devil's advocate here because I'm curious as to where the line is drawn for that. If someone finds your posts interesting and tells you in a PM, is that bad? Or do some women get PMs that just cross the line?

I obviously don't get PMs like this so I'm curious because it sounds like a simple PM could be misunderstood by an over-inflated ego.

Actually, that occurred to me after I'd started the thread. Hopefully it won't have that effect though. And I'm dressed in jean shorts and a loose t-shirt, and don't own anything that shows my midriff.

flattereing is when a dude exchanges posts with you in a thread or sends you a pm with some funny links or a cute comment, random pm's from people you don't know saying "how about some pics?" is not flattering,it's creepy and rude.
